We were blessed to have Josh Weidmann, a speaker who ministers to teens, at our church this past weekend. Josh was a student during the Colombine High School tragedy. My husband bought his book "Dad, If You Only Knew....8 things teens want to tell their fathers (but don't)"
I have started reading it. IT IS EXCELLENT. If you have a preteen (ages 9-12) or teens (13-18) please get this book! It is for fathers of teen daughters or sons. Josh wrote it in collaboration with his dad, Jim Weidmann. Something that really struck me, which I have known, but for some reason, it really touched my heart this a.m. was in Josh's preface. He says "if we are going to call youth to a saving relationship with their heavenly Father, it helps for them to first have a vibrant relationship with their earthly dad." (pg. 19). I also liked what Josh McDowell had to say in the foreword on pg. 12. He wrote that teens are facing unprecedented pressures and dangers today. And he asks us "do we really know what they're needing, asking for, pleading for from their parents? Have we listened---really? Do we know what they need most from a dad?"
