I didn't get a chance to get on the computer much yesterday due to my husband having to run the middle school youth group xmas party last night, which left me with both girls to manage, spelling words to quiz my youngest on, a paper to review for my oldest (yes, they are counting the hours until Christmas vacation which starts in about 1 1/2 hrs. from now!), last minute wrapping to do for Claire's birthday, the party stuff to organize, and a bit of vacuuming. So....here is my list of things I am thankful for this week:
- my co-workers in the kindergarten room who make my job so much fun....
- the smile of J--, a boy in class who has autism and delayed language skills. I am thankful for his sunny smile, his wink and his great laugh!
- my "baby", my youngest, my 2nd born, whatever you want to call her...she is 9 today...I have loved every minute of her life....she has brought laughter and brightness into our lives...she has a sparkle in her eye, dancing feet, acts of service is her love language and her heart is so open to the things of God....she has been my most difficult one of the 2 girls but....what a joy she is!
- my generous oldest daughter. She is a delight to watch at Christmas time. She is always making little cards, gifts, etc for her friends and family and I am so thankful for her generous, compassionate spirit.
- my Savior and Redeemer, the Lord Jesus! I could not "do life" without His constant presence in my life, without His servants working selfllessly at our church, without His word which I try to keep hidden in my heart......thank you Lord!

Right now I am actually really thankful for this post. Seriously. You helped me put things back into perspective.
I have two daughters as well. I love them dearly. And I was so looking forward to their being home for eleven days. They have been home for 2 hours and are fighting over the candy they each got in their goody bags at school!!
I got on here to vent and found your post. Must be God's way of bringing me back to the spirit of the season.
I am truly most thankful for my two beautiful, healthy little girls and my husband and the presence of the Lord at work in my life every day.
HI Theresa: nice to "meet" you! And I am glad the post touched you! Merry CHristmas and enjoy your time with your daughters!
