Another week has flown by! I'm a bit late; am rarely on the computer after 7: 30 pm but my oldest is at her weekly small group (life::groups), my youngest is finishing dessert and about to hop in the shower, hubby is at youth center teaching his small group (jr high boys) and realized I never posted any things I am thankful for this week. So here goes:
- for good orthodontists: we belong to a great group of orthodontists who have been in business in our area since the early 1960's. I am blessed that we can be a part of their practice because Courtney had braces for 2 years (she got them off just after turning 13) and now only needs a retainer. Well, today, they discovered that she needs a new retainer as her 12 yr. old molars finally came in (she is 14 1/2 tomorrow) and there is no extra cost for this! Thank you, God! (we have paid off the ortho bill, so I thank God for the 3 year payment plan we were on!)
- trustworthy, faithful and "servant heart" life::group leaders: my daughter belongs to a small group, run by her best friend's mother who is also my friend from church, and she is one amazing woman. Small groups for teens are called life::groups at our church because the entire Youth Group/ Center ministry is called Life::redefined. I am gonna post about Life::Redefined one of these days. But...for tonite: I am so thankful for Linda because not only is she leading a life::group tonite in her home for the group of 7 freshmen girls who attend, but she volunteered to bring my daughter home as my family had a conflict and wouldn't have been able to pick her up, so she might have had to miss her group. (and this is after working most of the day at the high school bookstore!) Thank you, God for this servant!
- Mild temps: have had lots of extra errands this week with my oldest daughter's physical, ortho appt, dry cleaning....just seemed like extra errands after working all a.m. so....I am most thankful that the weather has been unusually mild for this time of year with sunny skies and warm temps!
- my youngest daughter's hugs: she gives the best hugs in the world, and she loves to cuddle up on our bed to read her novel while I read mine. It is one of our favorite things to do after her shower, before lights out. Thank you, God for tween hugs!
What are you thankful for today??
