We haven't opened the camper yet this season....it needs some electrical work that my husband is still debating about doing or not. If we don't, it won't pass inspection. We are thinking of either selling it (we already have a buyer!), or putting some money into it to fix it up. I am at the point in life where I don't care either way. One daugher wants to go to tents (ick...way too much work, especially if it rains!), and one daughter wants to keep it. I would rather just rent a cabin but...that has its limits. So....we are praying and thinking and discussing. We need to make a decision by end of May.
Here are some household hints I discovered. Maybe they will benefit someone.
- Got extra lemons? Don't throw them away! Use the juice and a soft linen cloth to remove rust stains from metal outdoor furniture, or stains on concrete. This really works!
- If you have leftover coffee in the morning and don't plan on making iced coffee later in the day, simply pour it around your geraniums to promote blooming...this really works!
- Do you hate those sticky price tags that stores insist on putting on glass?? Here's a tip: spray it with WD-40 and it comes right off! OR, rub mayo on it, soak the glass in warm water; the tag peels right off!
- do you have old wallpaper you want to get off your wall? Dip a sponge into hot vinegar water and rub over the wallpaper. The wallpaper peels right off!
- I wish I had thought of this last spring when I was repainting our kitchen and living room: line your roller pan with foil and when done painting simply throw away the mess.....easy clean-up!
- Do you have a fence bordering your property that you don't own so you can't paint it the color of your choice? Or you just don't like the look? Here's what I did last spring and I am expanding it this year: make a wildflower garden along your side of the fence. Wildflowers grow profusely and help to hide an ugly fence. Also, plant sunflowers if the side is exposed to the sun for most of the day....my youngest daughter can't wait to see the 12' sunflowers that are supposed to grow this year....it will help to brighten up that side of the yard! OR...plant any kind of flower of your choice. Add a decorative mini flag and pole or some cute animal statues. I have a pretty rooster flag with seed packets and an adorable resin frog gracing that side of the lawn. Be creative!

Good Morning to ya
I love these helpful hints. I have used the WD-40 before to get of price tag glue. It really does work.
Thanks for all the great ideas!
