Satan Doesn't Win!

WOW.
It is Saturday evening and I am finally home after spending 4 1/2 hours in downtown Albany at an inner city church (Reigning Life) where the HizKidz Praise ministry performed the musical "The Pirates of the 'I Don't Care'-ibbean". It turned out great although the place was not packed. But....a couple of children in the audience gave their life to Jesus! Whoo-hoo! Praise the Lord.....that is what it's all about, my friends!

And get this:

Last nite, at opening nite, at our church, Grace Fellowship, the cast was just about to start the final scene. All of a sudden, the emergency lights and siren started flashing/blaring. The children just kept right on singing until we were told that we had to evacuate the building!

Yup...Satan tried to stop the show just as the all important gospel part of the musical was about to be presented.
For those of you who have been following this blog for quite some time, you will remember that last summer we had to evacuate the building (for same reason) during one of our summer camp days (HizKidz Praise does a week long summer music/drama/dance camp culminating in a show the last evening of camp). And of course you remember my post from December where I told you about how we lost power due to the horrific ice storm on opening nite of the Christmas musical and how my daughter had to perform her ballet solo in the dark with just a flashlight shining on her and music from just a battery operated boombox.

And so......
we all left the building and most of the audience didn't bother staying. It was pouring rain.
Once the firefighters and police gave the "all clear" we tromped back inside and the director told us we were going to finish the show! Halleluia.
Satan did not stop us!
The children were marvelous, orderly (hey...they are used to this stuff happening...never a dull moment at Grace Fellowship!) and professional. I give the director, Candace, a high thumbs up...she is marvelous. She keeps her cool, she is professional and always gives God the glory. A HUGE thank you to her! We love and appreciate her so much. We thank God we can have our daughter in such an important (and fun!) ministry. I thank God I have the opportunity to serve in such an awesome ministry....music, dance, drama, children, brothers and sisters in Christ who ENJOY serving.......it doesn't get much better than this. In fact, the Lord impressed on my heart today to get even more involved for the next semester and this summer during camp! I cannot wait to see what God is gonna do!

Tomorrow we do it again at 5 pm.
PRAY for us! Satan does not want the message of Jesus Christ to continue but guess what......Satan does not win! WE DO!

What was the problem with the alarm? It's too bad that people left, but it isn't about numbers, is it. :)

Faith, thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. Each time we near the finish of a HizKidz show, I am amazed and humbled by what God has done through an intricate weaving together of highly gifted people who love Him. There are so many details...so many plans, and, as I always say, God is a God of details. For that I am so thankful! However, I believe God uses these "fire alarms" in our lives to teach us that we ultimately are not in charge here -- no many how many detailed plans we forge, pray over, and put before Him. God's plans are bigger and better than any we could ever hope to make. So why on Friday night did God's plan include allowing that fire alarm to interrupt the end of our show? Who knows what all the far reaching answers to that may be, but I know this; when we were out there in that parking lot in the pouring rain singing our hearts out to Him and proclaiming Him --literally--in the storm -- it didn't even matter to me if we would be able to finish the show or not, because that, to me, was one of the most honest moments of worship I have experienced with the HizKidz to date. Yes, Satan is out to seek whom he may devour, and he loves to attempt to trip up God's children when they are working for Christ and His kingdom. And yes, God sometimes allows Satan's attempts to thwart our plans. BUT THAT'S OKAY because, as you put it, SATAN DOESN'T WIN! "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons," (...neither power outages nor fire alarms...) "neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39) God bless you, Faith, for your amazing faith. :)

In Him,
Candace

That's too bad that people left and didn't come back in to finish watching the performance. But good for the kids for getting right back into it!
