2013 Book Review 1: GRACE

I just finished a non-fiction book by Max Lucado.

We own a few of his earlier books and my absolute favorite one has always been No Wonder They Call Him the Savior.  I also really liked Just Like Jesus and When God Whispers Your Name.  But this book?

This is by far his best!! (in my opinion!)

I read through it quickly and then re-read the chapters that God really wanted me to glean from.

The book is a great one for both believers and non-believers because it is easy to understand and he makes the often difficult to grasp concept of grace, applicable to our everyday lives.  For the non-believer, they will read about God as a non-judgemental, everlasting Father who loves them unconditionally with the message of salvation clearly written out without being preachy.

This booked grabbed my attention at the town library, first of all because our town library actually was carrying it! And secondly, because the name of our church is GRACE Fellowship. And "grace" is a concept that my husband and I have had many discussions about. We have often experienced leaders and brothers/sisters in the Lord who just don't get the concept that Grace happens. It comes after you. That it's not our works that save us.  That it's God's Grace that beckons us. That grace happens and then generosity. And I could go on.

These are all concepts clearly spoken of in this book.

I enjoyed this book so much and think it's so important of a concept for today's church/Christians that I am going to go out and purchase it.

In my opinion, this book is appropriate for ages 14 and older.

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, I rate this a 10.
