April Daybook

It's a new month and today I am back home from traveling for the Easter weekend.  I've decided to join in with the other bloggers who participate in The Simple Woman's Daybook, a writing exercise about a peek into a day filled with simple things..........to join in, head over here to Peggy's site and then pick up your favorite coffee, sit and sip and savor the simple things.

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...snow flurries are twirling and there is a dusting of it on the ground. This is life in eastern NY! (yesterday in Boston, we were walking around in just sweaters, sunshine and 60 degrees F!)

I am thinking...of what I want to accomplish this  week during my Spring Break.

I am thankful...for the Savior Redeemer Whom we celebrated this past weekend and all that He has done for me!

In the kitchen...Peppermint Creme coffee and fresh grapefruit for breakfast; Chicken Club casserole for dinner with steamed green beans for dinner.

I am wearing...a long black cotton nightgown and my white with blue flowers summer robe with blue fleece slippers on my feet

I am creating...2 photo albums on Snapfish today (highlights of 2010 and 2011) Yes, I am a bit behind!

I am going...grocery shopping and a quick trip to the library later today

I am wondering...if Boston has snow this morning like we do here in NY!

I am reading...The Rebel Wife (see sidebar), finishing up Kisses from Katie on the Nook, and delving into John 15 for small group prep

I am hoping...that this spring snow only lasts a day!

I am looking forward to...going outlet shopping with my youngest daughter later in the week

I am learning......to be more open to what my husband needs right now

Around the house...laundry (because we were away for 3 days), a little vacuuming, grocery shopping, and re-organizing the basement

I am pondering...the Sunday sermon we heard in the Baptist church we attended for Easter (where our college daughter goes while away from us)....it was titled "From Grief to Glory" and was excellent...much to think on!

A favorite quote for today... "in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths..." Proverbs 3:6

One of my favorite things...relaxing in the early morning with a strong cup of coffee reading my favorite blogs

A few plans for the rest of the week: a shopping trip with Claire, prepping the upstairs hallway for a paint job, finishing up photo books, connecting with a couple of friends while on break

A peek into my day...

First crocus for spring 2013

Enjoy your day, everyone and look for the simple things!

I will have to check into snapfish. I'd love to start ordering photo books on the highlights of different years. The thought of the work overwhelms me, though.

Yesterday was gorgeous around here, but today is even better. I am actually outside with capris and t-shirt and tanning in 66* degree weather. It's actually supposed to hit 72* today! But as is typical, spring snow/rain tomorrow. LOL.

Susanne!! you are one blessed lady!! it is COLD and WINDY although sunny here in New York State today. BRRRR so I am working INSIDE the house even though you KNOW I wanna be outside. Oh well...we were outdoors almost ALL DAY yesterday in Boston, MA. it was a beautiful warm day! Snapfish is easy. You just upload your pics after creating a free account and then follow the steps to make a photobook. I title mine "Highlights of 2012" etc and just choose those photos that I truly wanna preserve. Otherwise my albums would be HUGE and expensive!! LOL
