AT HOME

So this is another take on The Simple Woman's Daybook which many of us bloggers have participated in, in past years.  I happened to find this one on a blog I see from time to time and she had a link for here.

Today, Monday 11 December

The weather..... It's a grey day...we received a light blanket of snow overnight....less than an inch on the grass.....and currently it's raining. Apparently some parts of NY got a lot of snow. It's supposed to be in the mid-40s most of the week after today, and we will see some sunshine most days. Love it!
Here's a pic from my family room looking out over the deck:

Right now I am....still wearing my soft bamboo, navy blue pajamas and thinking I really should go take a shower and get over to the grocery store.

I am Thinking....about yesterday's choir rehearsal and how far we've come as a group. New friendships formed, new harmonies learned.

On my reading pile....I'm currently a little more than half-way through a wonderful fantasy fiction book about Hansel and Gretl as young adults (After the Forest); I'm almost done with Overcoming Every Problem, a 40 chapter devotional by Joyce Meyers; I just completed The Art of Neighboring small group study and I'm half way through a Jennie Allen Bible study that I might be saving to finish next spring). I'm also making my way through Psalms this autumn.

On my TV.....I don't watch TV but I do watch Netflix or Hulu, sometimes on the television via Apple TV and usually on my laptop while cooking or folding laundry/ironing. I'm currently in Season 2 of This is Us (no I never saw it when it was on NBC for years...too busy with daughters' after school activities and doing lesson plans for my job!) and I'm watching Harriet on Netflix. (about Harriet Tubman).

Favorite blog post last week (mine or other)....this one.  It's one of my faves as we share a love for Scripture and creation/nature and she posted one of my very fave all time Scriptures.

Something fun to share....this amazing cocktail from my birthday celebration dinner out (we went to this place in Saratoga). It's a Christmas-y version of a Moscow Mule.
Cranberry Moscow Mule

Blog hopping (newly discovered blog)....I just discovered this blog. It's lovely.

On the menu for this week....Tonight I'm making vegan burgers with leftover salad; mashed cauliflower; Tuesday will be either  Tofu Scramble or Tacos with ground bison and cucumber slaw; not sure about the rest of the week as I haven't sat down to plan it out yet.

On my to do list....Check emails/answer important ones; pick up my sister's birthday treat at the bakery; return library books and volunteer forms; power walk each day; coffee with my youngest daughter; our last small group discussion Tuesday evening with a small food celebration; grocery shopping; ironing (yes I like my shirts crisp and fresh looking); choir music practice; rehearsal on Sunday; possible hike on Thursday; clean both bathrooms; laundry; baking 2 batches of cookies

Looking forward to this week.... Our alto section rehearsal on Sunday here at my home! (my husband will be here too to sing bass and our oldest daughter and one other soprano will also help out)....this is an extra rehearsal as our alto harmonies and rhythms are challenging this year.

Looking around the house....It's Christmas!!  Most of my decor is nature-based. I see that I may need to vacuum the dining room hardwood and apply some polish to it before Christmas festivities get underway.

From the camera....here are Sunday morning's sunrise photos

dawn is breaking to the east......

On my prayer list.....my friend Cindy's husband Jay; my youngest daughter; my in-laws; my friend Monica and her son N.

I enjoyed your Monday post. I used to participate in Simple Woman's Day Book a long time ago and when I thought of joining again, it looks like it's no longer active. I remember winters growing up in upstate NY. I still get a touch of snow here in Tennessee but I'm glad I don't have to deal with it every day for months.

Oh thanks so much for the blog mention. :)
We had some of those purple skies too. Beautiful.

I used to participate in these at Sandra's site. Maybe I should get back to it. Might bring some inspiration.
