Sunday Stealin' 16 June

Welcome to Sunday Stealing. This feature originated and published on WTIT: The Blog. Here we will steal all types of questions from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent questions.

I'm playing along again with the Sunday Stealing meme hosted by this blog.  Loved the questions this week!

1.  What is most important to you: My relationship with God/Jesus and my husband, 2 daughters and my church Grace Fellowship/Latham.

2.  Your best trait: my teacher personality. so I've been told. Also my organizational skills, outgoing/extroverted personality and my loyalty and honesty to friends. This is based on feedback from several people I know including former site supervisors/special ed coordinators.

3.  A movie that makes you happy: Les Miserables (because of all the amazing symbolism and themes of mercy and  grace)

4.  Something that excites you: When I meet people  who love to hike!

5.  Something that worries you: the state of our nation....the far right.....yikes......

6.  Actions you admire: honesty, generosity, compassion, people who smile in return and people who hold the doors for another person

7.  What year has been your best so far: that's tough. I embrace each new year and honestly, each year has had some amazing moments. but probably the year I was accepted as fellow with the Research Foundation at U Albany and then signing a contract to teach at Kenwood Child Development Center. (1986/1987).  But also 1990 when I got married; 1993 when I gave birth to Courtney and 1998 when I gave birth to Claire. OH and definitely 2005 when we left a toxic church to become members at Grace Fellowship. How does one just choose one year???

8.  Who do you trust? God/Jesus and my husband. Oh and my 3 closest friends and 2 daughters.

9.  A Song from Your Childhood: Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel came out in 1970 when I was 10.  Loved it.

10.  What you wore today:  white high-waisted ankle length jeans; sapphire blue silk tee, cropped white elbow length denim jacket, tan wedge sandals, magenta toenail polish, my white fitbit, blue drop earrings

11.  A book you are currently reading:  Mostly What God Does by Savannah Guthrie; Precipice by Paul Doiron; Dear Sister by Michelle Horton

12.  What do you want less of? gossip, racism,  and "Christian" nationalism in general.  Personally: less daily headaches/neck pain

13.  A question that needs to be asked:  Do you  know where you'll spend eternity? if yes, are you practicing the 2 greatest commands?

14.  The best idea you’ve had this week: to have our oldest nephew present the flag to my mother in law at my father in law's funeral next week.

15.  How are you creative? with my music (I write songs for the piano); with my nature journaling and with my cooking...and according to my friends, I am creative in how I use seasonal decor for my home.

That was fun!!  How would you answer these questions??

I used to love to hike while on vacation. It was a great way to become intimate with new places. Alas, I'm terribly out of shape.

I was comforted to see you single out Christian nationalism. I worry about the future of my faith when I hear that radical talk, and I'm glad I'm not alone.

I left a church in 2000. It wasn't toxic but the pastor and some of his acolytes were.
"Christian" nationalism is abhorrent. It's not Christianity as I understand it.
