For all of my readers/friends who celebrate halloween: have fun, stay safe, and please go with your child(ren) if you do the trick-or-treating thing...also, please check their candy and goodies before allowing them to indulge.
For those of you doing alternate activities....have fun!
As for my house: I will teach in the morning and then pick up my youngest (Claire) from her school to take her out to lunch which is our Halleluia Day tradition. We will then go play in the town park, and then head home to finish any homework she might have. Once my oldest (Courtney) is out of school for the day, we will eat an early dinner and then head over to church to meet my husband for Halleluia Night. Claire is singing in a special gospel presentation with the choir from the drama group she is in, Courtney will be serving as a teen volunteer greeting the many children and parents who come to Halleluia Nite (it is open to church members as well as the public) and my husband and I will take Claire around to the various activities that are set up. The one we are most looking forward to is the hayride....always alot of fun! We will be home by 8 pm and then it is off to showers and bed after letting Claire eat one piece of candy! (the church gives out little bags of goodies along with some Scriptures).
Whatever you do: remember: keep it safe, keep it fun and stay with a buddy!

Faith,
Did you know that this is the day that Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door? This is actually a day to celebrate the reformation of the Christian faith from predominantly Catholic to include the protestant denominations. So we celebrate Reformation Day and watch the old black and white film called "Martin Luther". We think about Romans 3:28, which is the pivotal scripture that convince Luther of true faith.
So, Happy Reformation Day to you!
Hi Karen: yes, we know about Reformation Day. I actually learned about it as a teen ager and then again at college (see the kinds of things you learn at a Christian college? LOL) anyways, when we got married Dave and I had decided as a couple that any future children would not do trick or treating and we would give them the choice to play dress-up on this day for any parties. They have never wanted to dress up so we just attend Halleluia Nite. It is the most fun.....very organized, cost is minimal and the drama skits are fantastic....very gospel oriented as we have alot of unsaved/nonbelievers walk through the doors. The movie you watch sounds interesting....I have never seen it. Maybe we will get that sometime! Thanks for the tips! Enjoy the rest of the week!
