The verses I was reading this morning are from 2 Timothy, chapter 1. I have been reading in the Scriptures all week about the topic of Hope. I often think about what it must have been like for Mary, as she awaited the arrival of her baby....the Son of God! Did she have any fear in her mind? I know that when I was awaiting the birth of both of my daughters, I sometimes would get fear about all kinds of things: what if my baby is kidnapped in the hospital? What if the baby has developmental problems or a physical handicap? What if I can't deliver her as a natural birth; what if I have to have a C-section? I had to get the mind of Christ, the peace of God and place my fears at His feet. Did Mary have the same fears? Did she wonder about Jesus and His future? We don't know really but......we can know the assurance of what Paul writes about in his letter to Timothy. It states: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." When we are faced with fear, about anything, and we focus on the power of God in our lives, we can overcome that very fear! Reason with the mind that God gave you. Feel God's love! These 3 things can help us to feel hope rather than fear.....about any situation we might be facing!
Face your fears today by bringing them to the feet of the One who can replace them with His Hope!

A wonderful encouragement. I love this verse: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."
Have a blessed Sunday!
