"Even when the rainbow seems to pass right by me....I'm still finding Gold in the clouds....."

01 May 2008

It's Thursday already!
Where does the week go?
This week my tank is filled up in a big way. I praise God and am most thankful for:
  • My husband's patience. He really, really, really wants to go to NYC (yankee stadium, Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, among other places) for Memorial Day weekend. I don't. He talked me into it. He is a patient man.
  • AAA: for those of you who aren't members, it stands for American Automobile Association. We have been members since grad school days. They give out awesome discounts, free travel books, and help plan trips to cities I don't really wanna visit. Like NYC. During Memorial Day weekend. To watch a Yankees game. Even though none of us are Yankee fans.
  • NJ: yup, you are reading that correctly. I am thankful for New Jersey (have only been there once). Because of NJ, we get much cheaper rates for hotels with indoor pools and extended breakfast, than in Manhattan. YEAH....Maybe NYC over the weekend won't be so bad!
  • The power of prayer: I am thankful that this day has been recognized as the National Day of Prayer. I am thankful that no matter what our situation, that the Lord answers us, in some way, if we just call on His Name and are patient.
  • My friend Lynn: she is so flexible when it comes to our lunch dates! Once again, I have a conflict with the day we had set aside to do lunch. Since it is a work thing, I can't get out of it. So...once again, she is the flexible friend, waiting patiently while I figure out my schedule for next week and find a day we both are free. With no afternoon appointments. Because we have lots to talk about! Which leads me to....
  • The Olive Garden Lunch Special: for only $5.95 you can eat soup and salad special and enjoy a nice atmosphere (kids are in school!) and sit and chat with a glass of wine with your best bud and not break your budget!
  • My Savior: He is the rock of my salvation, the One I need to turn to daily to do this thing called parenting, marriage, teaching.....life!
What about you? What are you most thankful for today??

I am thankful for the Lord's loving kindness and faithfulness toward me.

I'm thankful for my family and being able to enjoy them.

Faith,
I really like the quote:
"The art of being wise is the art of knowing what to overlook."
To be wise...
