June Fave Fives #4

FRIDAY!!

Time to find the five favorite things from the week that God blessed us with.

Had quite a few favorite things again....family, foods, fun.....

FATHER'S DAY!  This makes my fave five because it really was such a relaxing day. After church, we had a nice lunch out at his fave BBQ place.(pictured above).  Click here to learn more.  We had some amazing food, fantastic frozen custard (a treat for us here in eastern NYS...it is from the western part of NY, near Rochester/Buffalo, but this particular place serves it), and great weather. It was hot, but not humid, so it was very enjoyable to be eating outdoors under the big tent.  The rest of the day was spent watching a movie and relaxing, talking, laughing and reading.  We all just needed a "down time" day and that was exactly what Dave wanted and received! (the girls also got him a kayak bag & a shirt for hiking/kayaking.  I bought him the latest computer baseball game he had been begging me for!).  I told him he is the BEST DADDY to our 2 little girls...we are very blessed.....

that comes remotely close to France's "ORANGRINA"

IZZE SPARKLING CLEMENTINE juice drink!  YES!  I found this drink (comes in cans & bottles, altho I could only get it in a can) at our local Target.  I like this drink!  My family (all 4 of us) discovered Orangrina in Paris.  I have bought many items to try and copy that orange drink.  Finally found this...it is still too sugary tho.....but it is a very close 2nd to the real thing! (it is pure juice and sparkling water and unfortunately, 19 grams of sugar).  It is NOT Orangrina though.  And if you know of where I can possibly purchase the real thing, please let me know! It is a true taste of Paris! For now, I'll have to stick to IZZE.

WILDFLOWERS!  I love these daisies this year. My ballerina helped me plant the seeds about 2 years ago. We didn't expect them to do well in our soil. Our town has clay-based soil. I wasn't sure how the wildflowers would do.  Well....they are beautiful.  I have 2 groupings of them along this neighbor's fence. I like clipping some for a small bud vase I have and placing it on the counter near the coffeepot...it brightens my morning!

MOTHER'S MOUNTAIN CRANBERRY APPLE JAM! 

I just discovered this delicious jam.  It is excellent on toast or crackers.  The website has alot to offer and you can order online if you can't find products in your grocery store.  The store I regularly shop at just has the jams.  I may try ordering from the website when I want some new dressings or their famous mustard!  Give it a try or at least check out the site by clicking here.  They are located in Maine!

Last day of school was Wednesday!

The girls and I are on summer break!  Definitely a fave around here since summer is our absolute fave season!

We are summer people for sure!

And with that, you can find me each morning, on the deck with my coffee, Bible, study book, fiction book, or newspaper, or sometimes all of those things!  Thursday, my first day, to linger on the deck and not rush off anyplace, found me in my study book again.  I finished reading through "Deeper:  Living in the Reality of God's Love" by Debbie Alsdorf earlier this month.  I am now going back through it and taking notes, etc.  I do plan on doing a book review sometime in July about this book. I highly recommend it for any Christian woman who wants to "go deeper" in her walk with Jesus OR if you have never had complete freedom in the Lord, this book helps draw you into that freedom of the Lord's love for us.  I re-read a portion of the chapter that is titled "God knows me".  Here is a summary of the thought that jumped out at me:  God is not only powerful on our behalf, but He is committed to our very souls!!!! God KNOWS us.  Wrap your mind around that.  He knows our every thought before we even think it. He knows our very words before we even say (or type!) them.  He knows our attitudes, opinions, feelings, and dreams.
