Home Again!

We're home again.  It's hot.  And humid.  NYS CapitalRegion doesn't get as humid, usually, as my hometown area (Central NYS/Mohawk Valley) but.....this week is a scorcher!

Wasn't too bad on the cape.....the water was a perfect 72 degrees in Buzzards Bay, according to the Boston news report on television.  It's always humid, somewhat, near the ocean of course, but with the constant sea breezes, one doesn't mind!

We had a lovely time.....alot of reading, relaxing, and I even managed to post a few articles.  There are some super-easy recipes on here.  Scroll down...I have made them all except for the Steak Salad.  That is for Friday nite's dinner!

Tonite, my 11 year old (Claire) has a free ticket to the NYC Ballet.  They are performing "A Mid-Summer Night's Dream" at this marvelous venue.  My husband and I have 2 tickets, each at half price!  That is a huge savings.....she will go with other 5th graders in our district, on one of the school buses, and we will meet them up there.  It promises to be a great evening!!
My teenager who is almost 17 (Courtney) is attending the first youth group session of the summer at our church's youth center so....she won't be seeing the ballet.  She doesn't mind...she read the play in 9th grade Honors English.  She tolerated it.

Because I have a morning dental appt, followed by shopping at a local farmers market, then preparing an early dinner, plus laundry, I  won't be blogging much the rest of the week...until the Friday Fave Fives.

My teen has a birthday on Sunday and I still need to shop for that.....plus, we have so many things going on right now with the transition of me helping out with the junior high youth group this summer (Claire joins Youth Group on Thursday!), starting to mentor a young mom from my Bible study class I am taking (she asked me if we could start meeting next week...please keep me in prayer!) and Claire is also taking summer ballet lessons (private!!). My husband continues to help out at that event plus leads a high school boys small group!  These events take place even during the summer months so....we are busy!  I still have the girls' physicals to schedule, and eye appts to schedule.  Courtney is supposed to get her wisdom teeth out at some point either this summer or during Xmas break.....plus.... we are also visiting 3 colleges during the last 2 weeks of July..and I have some thoughts about a Psalm I have been meditating on that I do want to share with you......
for now though...no blogging in the next 2 days.....

.....I love summer.....busy, but a different kind of busy.....yet we still find times to relax and have fun!

For now.....enjoy the picture!
