FRIDAY!
And it was an uneventful week at the school.....a good start back after Spring Break and only 10 more weeks of the year left, after today! I am really looking forward to the more relaxed pace of summer.
The week was uneventful but I managed to find FIVE FAVES that God brought to it.....small things but special things.......
Please join in with us by linking up at Susanne's site and sharing what God brought to you this past week!
- CROCUSES! All the crocuses are up and open in my front yard. Spring is really here in the Capital Region of New York State. We had some wonderful weather in the earlier part of the week and could wear spring jackets. I love seeing all the green popping out and the flowers beginning to bloom. It is a real blessing to live where we have the 4 seasons and see God's Handiwork all around us, all year long.
- WINE TASTING PARTY! Last Friday evening, rather spontaneously, Dave and I had some good friends over for a wine tasting. Our friends Bob and Carla from church brought over a wonderful white wine and we shared a new -to- us red wine we discovered. It was a Syrah from a Russian River Valley winery in CA. I don't usually care for red wine but this one is just amazingly good so I'll probably stick to it. We typically buy Reisling from the Finger Lakes region of NYS to support our own wineries but this red from CA is just lovely! I am adding red wine to my diet for the heart benefits. They also brought some nut cluster treats and I served crackers and cheese...a very sharp NYS cheddar. It was so good!! The fellowship was awesome and it just felt so good to kick back and relax with good friends in Christ. It's a blessing for sure. And the wine was good, too!

- FAMILY HIKING CLUB! I did it!! I finally started something I've been talking about with my husband for years. I started a Family Hiking Club for families in my church, especially for the families of my small group and other people we know who want to learn or go with others. I created the group via Facebook since almost everyone interested is on there and I chose the date and place of our first event. The place we are heading in a couple of weeks is pictured above. It is a very easy walk in the woods, about 25 minutes southwest of our town and it is definitely geared for beginners. BUT...because I have some friends who have never hiked before, we thought this was a good place to start. I am very excited that we have friends to hike with and that our teen girl will have some friends who are coming along with their parents. It's the kind of group that is for singles, couples, or families. Sometimes it will be just us women going for a "girls day away". It's a blessing to be able to get outside for fun and fitness! (please note: the FHC is not JUST for members of my church....it's for anyone who knows me and wants to join...I have some friends from the central part of the state who are interested and if any of you are reading this who live in or near the Albany area, feel free to contact me about how to join the club!)
- WORSHIP! We were back in our own church on Sunday and it just felt so good to be "home" worshiping our Lord and Savior, partaking in communion. It's a huge blessing to have the pastor we do, and to sit under his teachings. I will never take it for granted.
- POWER WALK IN SUNSHINE! Claire takes 4 ballet classes per week so I normally run errands during her classes. But on Tuesdays she has a Lyrical Ballet class for only an hour (5-6 pm) which is the perfect time, now that it is lighter later, to take my power walk. I prep dinner right after work, drive her to class, park the car and walk in the neighborhood where the dance studio is located. It's on the other side of town, not far from here, in an older section. The streets are typical suburban, meaning just the main drags are busy and the side streets were nice and quiet and peaceful. I walked for about 2 miles before needing to be back at the car and the day was warm, sunny and the birds were out, flitting back and forth. It felt so good to do a fitness walk outdoors!! And it's the perfect time...before dinner! Power walking late in the day really does help you sleep better at night, too!
That wraps up some blessings I found throughout my week.
Now what about you? What did God bless you with??
Please share!!

I love crocuses. I don't have any but would love to have some planted here. I love living in a place with four distinct seasons, too.
The hiking club sounds interesting!
The hiking club sounds like so much fun. It would be totally motivating to be able to get into something like that with a group of friends.
No spring flowers coming out here yet that I can see. In fact, after wearing capris and t-shirts last week we are digging out the mitts and warm stuff to deal with snow again this weekend.
We've been out and about for walks too and it's been so nice, well up until the snow this morning. LOL. But I love listening to all the birds singing while we walk
I love hiking and wish I could get out more often than I do. Walking the beach and around town is great though. It's just nice to be outside in the sunshine.
Since 3 days we also get some spring flowers ! It's about time, the winter lasted so long this year !
Love those crocuses! Faith, you are quite the walker, aren't you? Wish you lived close enough to walk with me...maybe I'd do it then! The Family Hiking Club sounds like a lot of fun.
Have a great week ahead.
