"Even when the rainbow seems to pass right by me....I'm still finding Gold in the clouds....."

His Eye

"When you turn from your problems to My Presence, your load is immediately lighter.  Circumstances may not have changed, but we carry your burdens together.  Your compulsion to "fix" everything gives way to deep, satisfying connection with Me. Together we can handle whatever this day brings."

My morning devotional time had this in the reading for today.

I was sitting in the living room.......darker side of the house in the early morning grey light with the rain streaming down the windows.  Not sure why I chose the living room over the lighter family room on the east side of the house.....I guess because it was the warmer room..........and the one where my Bible lay.

I happened to hear robin sounds....sure enough, the babies were crying for their morning meal.

We have a nest in the juniper bush between our living room windows.

Mama Robin was darting around the yard and  Baby was on a lower branch of the cherry tree...across from her nest, and acting very scared.  It kept opening its mouth. I saw Mama put a worm in the baby's mouth. Mama then flew away.  Baby tried to fly but didn't succeed.  She stayed on the branch while I could hear other babies in the nest. I didn't dare go out on the stoop to snap a picture.  Mama came back with another worm....she provided baby with her meal...and then I saw her gently nudge the baby with her beak.......

and this picture came to my mind.........

That baby is like us when we face a problem.  We get scared.  We aren't in the presence of God sometimes because we are so focused on the problem.

That baby was comforted by Mama Robin's presence.  It stopped crying and ate of the food that was put in its mouth.

When we "eat" of the food (The Word of God) that He has given to us, daily, we are in His Presence.  We will be connected to Him and He will take our burdens from us.  Our burdens will be "lighter" because He is carrying them with us. We can have peace and joy in His presence.  He rejoices over us with His singing...just like Mama bird was singing to her baby.

Eventually the baby robin made it back to the nest.......where it was safe and warmer than on the exposed branch of the large cherry tree.

When we make our way in life with God beside us.....With following Christ in all things, with all the plans and purposes He has for us, then we are "safe". Even if we are exposed to the enemy, we will be safe in His Arms.

His eye is on the Sparrow......(from Scripture in Matthew and Luke)...and His eye is on the robins......

............and on us.........

let's practice the presence of God and allow Him to provide for us...and to carry our burdens.....and keep us safe........

Scriptures based on today's reading:

"fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you.  I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."  ~Isaiah 41:10~

"the Lord your God is in your midst, the Mighty One, will save;  He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing."
~Zephaniah 3:17~
