His mercy.......
reaching down like the streaming sun reaching through the trees, through the dark edges of my soul, the shadows in my heart.............
and how great is His faithfulness!
His Life brings Light......to those dark places...those shadows in our souls, hearts, minds........like the sun brings the light of day............

Reading through the beginning of the book of Esther in the Old Testament is teaching me that God is the hero of this book........and He is not specifically mentioned at all!!
Esther trusted that God would work through her and accomplish His purpose in her...........
From chapter 2 we learn that the women in the king's court suffered an abuse...... every virgin had to spend a night with the king, wiping away their innocence. Esther found favor with Xerxes and so married him....but although the other women were being prepped for marriage, they were just held as slaves....as concubines.............a huge injustice to them. But Esther was one of God's...and found favor with Him and therefore with Xerxes.
God worked through Xerxes' wicked heart.....worked through it because of Esther......God sustained her! She had the grace of God upon her life!
And we can too.............God will give us grace when we least expect it sometimes.....as long as we are trusting in Him and living for Him............
When we face struggles, no matter what they are, we need to be placing our trust in His Hands....His purposes.......for our lives.
Marriage woes, willful children, tempestuous teens, mundane chores.
No matter what you are struggling with this day, know that God has you for such a time as this....just like He did for Esther....she was brought to the court for such a time as that......to fulfill God's plans and purposes.........and she trusted.
His mercies are new every morning!! Every new day, on rising, we have a fresh start. We can give our whole lives, our hearts, souls, minds over to the One who renews us and extends His grace to us.
How great is His faithfulness!!

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness Lord unto me!

My favorite scripture and I do love the book of Ester, too. Haven't read it in awhile. Have to remedy that.
