30 Days of Giving Thanks

I've decided to do what many people on Facebook do.

Give thanks each day for one thing.....whether big or small.  Just one thing each day this month.

Here in the United States, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the last Thursday of this month.  It is to honor the Pilgrims who came over from England for religious freedoms..and the Native Americans helped them to survive through that first year.

Because my husband's ancestors were on the Mayflower, and then on the Speedwell boat, this holiday is extremely important to his parents.

However, we take it a step further and truly give thanks to the Living God for each blessing He brings to us.  We are Christ-followers and believe in giving thanks EVERY day of the year.

However, for the month of Thanksgiving, we are going to give thanks publicly on this blog and invite you to join in with us.

All you need to do is check back here each day...and leave one comment about what you are thankful for!!

The person with the most comments will be receiving a special gift from us.

I hope you play along......

Let's catch up:

Day 1:  I give thanks for my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus the Son of God for His eternal Love and Salvation.

Day 2:  I give thanks for my husband, Dave...he is hard-working, faithful, kind, gentle and a terrific daddy!

Day 3:  I give thanks for my 2 daughters, Courtney and Claire. I truly cannot imagine my life without them.

What are you thankful for today???

Today I am thankful for Sundays. I need that time to rest, reboot, reconnect.

Yes, I believe we should give thanks every day of the year. James tells us to give thanks in our tribulations. (Yikes) I like to take the month of November to give thanks more because it prepares my heart for the next season, Advent. Preparing for the birth of Christ! I get so excited when I think about it!
we are doing a challenge over at my place! would live it you would link up so others could follow your thankfulness!
God bless and have a great day!

We celebrate Thanksgiving officially here in October in Canada, but I try to look for things to be thankful for all the time. I'll try to play along in your comments because it's a great thing to promote and so important to be thankful!

1st - Thankful for all those who join me in the weekly Friday's Fave Five meme. Truly a blessing!

2nd - Thankful for friends to spend time with

3rd - Thankful that I get to go church and worship freely

I am thankful for my son (17 with type 1 Diabetes), coming home from a camping trip with his boy scout troop in the wilderness! It was cold and I was very worried and praying about his blood sugar going too low or high and of him being cold at night. So thankful he's home safe!!

Having just recently finished "One Thousand Gifts" this is a great exercise on meditating on the goodness of the Lord! So, catching up to you...
1. I am so very thankful to belong to the Lord.
2. I am thankful for my wonderful family.
3. I am thankful for coming through trials this year together with God's grace and love.

well, I began this late, but I want to begin with my all consuming and wondrous thankfulness to the LORD who knew me, and knows me, and yet still gave His life for me and loves me. bj
