Well, my personal goal of finishing this book by the end of summer vacation didn't happen.......because I was taking notes and journaling through out the entire book!! It took me longer to read this than I anticipated and I STILL have some of the journaling sections to complete in my quiet time this autumn.
SUMMARY
This book is a non-fiction Christian personal study book. It focuses on how, as women, we often hold our dreams in......we dream these dreams and plan these plans as young children and teenagers...and then life happens. Or we get stagnant in our Christian walk. Or we have fears. Or insecurity. Or worries. Or low self-esteem. And our dreams are laid aside or die.
The author is actually a pastor's wife and busy mother yet she also works at writing Bible studies and this is a GOOD one. Although I haven't felt "restless" in a long time, the part about the dreams being on hold intrigued me.
She goes into the whys of this happening and what we can do about it.
Each chapter has a section where one can answer some questions in a brief journal form. These really made me think!!
She also shares from her own experiences and the experiences of other women she has ministered to or is friends with. I really liked reading these stories.
The author focuses on the story of Joseph...how his relationships, giftings, and suffering all were "threads" in his life story....and how this fits into the God story of his life....and that we can do the very same thing!! We can figure out our "threads" and God can become bigger than any of our fears, worries or insecurities. We were made to run after Him and His purposes for us.
I highly recommend this book as a personal study. I'm now in the process of going back to the highlighted sections and journaling about those areas as well as finishing up the questions in the last 2 chapters.
And hopefully, I will untangle some of the threads in my own life and pursue God with even greater passion!!
In my opinion, this book is appropriate for ages 17 and older.
On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, I rate this a 10.

This sounds good. Would it lend itself well to a group study? And are the chapters long?
I emailed you about this Susanne!!
