Good Friday. A most important day in the life of a Jesus follower.
While I take a break from reflecting on the importance of this most holy day, I'm linking up at Susanne's site to share five of my fave blessings from the past week. Each day brings blessings...whether big or small...and it is good to give thanks for them.

- EASTER DECOR! Last weekend, I put the final March decor away and took out my April/Easter/Spring. It felt great to get some spring color into the house! I haven't got a lot of "easter" items but just some little touches here and there really perked me up and made me smile and say Thank You, God for Spring!

warm sunshine and a good book! |
- SUNSHINE AND WARMTH! Saturday began with pouring, chilly rain. By noon the sun was out and the temps were warming up. Dave had raking to do in the far back of the backyard and I had some cleaning in the house to do. Once we were done, he went and ran an errand and I plopped in one of our deck chairs on the grass and sat and read a couple of chapters in the book I was finishing up. I was so thankful to be in short sleeves sitting in the sunshine soaking up some natural Vitamin D.

Patti blooms! |
- NEW BLOOMS! I was about to give up on "Patti" my African Violet plant. Unlike my "needs no care" snake plant Sylvester, Patti is high maintenance. She requires a lot of water and needs to face east. She was looking pretty sad over the weekend but I talked to her (hahahah!) and by Wednesday morning I noticed new blooms!! I said "thanks God for pretty plants". She reminds me of my grandmother's African violets....how I loved going to her home when I was little and counting all of her African violet plants. I'm thankful for God's creation.
- CHECK! I had 3 appointments this week (neurology...finally!, blood work for specific things, dental check-up/cleaning). I was thrilled to be able to check these appointments off my calendar and I'm thankful the dental check-up and x-rays were all good. No problems at all. Whew. Blood work results came back and all is normal (i was being checked for various autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation) and the neurologist appt went well and confirmed a couple of things for me. I"m so thankful for health insurance too and for helpful customer service people...there was an issue regarding the lab place and the insurance people assured me all is well.

- NETFLIX MOVIE: On Tuesday evening while folding laundry, I began the above movie on Netflix. I finished it Wednesday evening and literally sat with tears running down my face at a couple of spots. If you like clean, family friendly movies, this is one I highly recommend. It's set during the 1940s in northern CA and it's powerful. It's one of the best movies in my opinion, on Netflix currently. I'm thankful for faith-based movies that aren't sappy.
That wraps up my five faves for the past week.
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter/Resurrection Sunday (for those of you who celebrate). I am on Spring Break beginning today and am so looking forward to no alarm clock waking me up!

Hi Faith. I will have to check out that movie on Netflix. I love your African Violet. I used to have several plants like that and loved them, but they didn't survive one of our moves and now it is very hard to find a place to buy them around there. I also enjoy plants and have quite a few in my home. So glad your had a good week and are now on spring break. Enjoy some well-earned down time.
Your Spring decor is so cute. Would you believe I don't have any spring decor. I have fall and Christmas. I guess I need to look at some DIY projects or visit Hobby Lobby!
I've also been reflecting on the events that happened a bit over 2000 years ago. I'm so thankful for a Savior who loves me and paid the ultimate price to redeem me.
I've heard of snake plants that require such little care. I would like a couple house plants but am lethal with anything that need special attention. I did have an African violet once that did thrive for awhile. Maybe there's hope for me yet.
Wishing you a blessed Resurrection Sunday.!
Happy Easter to you and your family, Faith!
I'm going to Netflix right after this comment and see if Canada has it. When I had an African violet my daughter gave me I did very little to it and it kept multiplying. I was constantly having to separate it. Have no idea what I was doing right. What finally killed it was I put it in the downstairs bathroom because there was a perfect spot for it and then I promptly forgot it was there.
We are supposed to hit 20*C (68*F) this weekend! Then it will go down a bit again but at least it won't be into the freezing! I have not been motivated to change up my decor like years past but I did bring out a spring scented candle.
I just got some of my spring/Easter decor up yesterday--a little late for me, but in time for the family coming for Easter. I almost wasn't sure I wanted to, but it didn't really take very long, and it did brighten up the house and make everything feel springy.
I was never good with African violets. They'd leaf out but wouldn't bloom. I'm glad yours did!
I'm glad your health appointments are behind you and all went well.
I've not heard of that film--I'll look it up.
Enjoy your break! Happy Easter!
I am super late commenting on FFF. Yeah, my weekend was a bit crazy.
I don't do African violets any more. No good east windows here. I'm glad you talked yours into blooming.
Since my grandparents grew up on the Northern CA coast and my dad on the Southern OR coast, I think I'd like that movie. And it's faith-based, too.
I hope your Easter Sunday was a great celebration.
My family parents, grandparents etc were not religious at all so for me Easter was mostly the bunnies and the egg hunting and having fun.
