MAY DAYBOOK

I'm participating in the Simple Woman's Daybook this month. You can learn more about this lovely woman who lives a simple life by clicking here.  Feel free to write your own daybook.

For Today, MONDAY
20 May

Looking out my window..

morning sunlight about 7: 30 AM

I am thinking...

about all the things on the "to do" list for the week

I am thankful...

that my youngest sister is recovering well from her brain surgery

One of my favorite things...
finding wildflowers like trillium on the mountain paths
purple trillium
on the trail up Moxham Mountain
Spring 2023

I am wearing...
black yoga pants,  a comfy workout tee
robin's eggshell blue toenail polish on barefeet
my fitbit and my birthstone
and wedding/engagement rings;
it's early!
I'm not showered or dressed for the day
 yet but I'm dressed for my morning walk

I am creating...

a list of places to explore this summer

and a mini devotional based on Isaiah 26:3 that

I've been asked to submit for a possible book

I am watching...

the baby bunny on the back lawn;

many robins and cardinals on the trees;

and the flash tape swaying in the morning breeze

which hangs off our swing in the backyard

I am reading...

James 4

All the Lost Places by Amanda Dykes

Mostly What God Does by Savannah Guthrie

I am listening to...

the sound of the robins chirping...babies are in the nest in the trees next door

and this song (I've got Spotify on my Macbook)

In the garden...

I have a flower garden and deck containers

here's a peek at my side yard irises

In the kitchen...

for dinner tonight I'm grilling salmon

and making a tossed salad with baby romaine,

carrots, cucumbers, sweet orange peppers, cherry tomatoes

and a light ginger dressing

Words of Others

"And yet the dawn is ours before we know it.

Somehow, we do it.

Somehow, we've weathered and witnessed

A nation that isn't broken, but simply

unfinished." (~Amanda Gorman from her poem The Hill We Climb~)

A moment from my day...

I'm growing basil and just moved it this morning
from the family room to the deck.......in another month I'll have some for a sandwich or salad!

I hope whatever you have planned for the day, that you embrace the simple things in your life.

Happy Monday!

Hi Faith. I love Daybook posts. Sounds like you are having a good Monday. I love your little basil sprouts. Glad to hear that your sister continues to do well. Have a good week. See you again soon!
