BOOK SUMMARY
Elisabeth learned a lot about standing up for her own convictions when she was in the public eye. She had always strived to win the approval of others and God. But God was changing her to see His point of view.
She needed to learn to rest in her calling, to rest in the Scriptures and to fully rest in the Gospel Truth.
She writes about her walk during her career days and as a mom.
She shares her triumphs, her failures and about learning lessons the hard way.
MY THOUGHTS
I wanted to really enjoy this book but I'm being honest when I say I just didn't. I think for me, who has also overcome some similar struggles but with far less money, it bugged me that she came across as slightly entitled and slightly complaining about her life. Good grief. She's married to an NFL guy and we know they make a LOAD of money. So this is not a rags to riches type of memoir. Her struggles were real of course but it just made me kind of sigh and shout "what did you expect when you chose to go on a reality show?" or "what did you expect when you had to face super liberal women on yet another reality type show/talk show?? " And Fox News??? Now, if she'd survived MSNBC that would make for a more exciting memoir! (in my opinion).
I did like that she included a lot of Scriptural truths and Scripture throughout the book. She also used some good quotes by famous people which were interesting to read. Her chapter on forgiveness was quite good. One chapter included all of the "lessons" she learned and I could relate to some of them.
A quote that jumped out at me was:
"What is clear to me now is that in those moments of weakness, my kids were able to see resilience in me and to realize that things don't always go your way....they witnessed me choose to trust that God was working for me, even when I had no work." (pg 80 Point of View by Elisabeth Hasselbeck c.2019)
and this one:
"When we are called to leave a place, even when it is not our choice, choosing to leave well and pass the torch well will be worth it." (pg 83).
I wholeheartedly agree with that statement!
In my opinion, this book is appropriate for ages 14 and older.
On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest, I rate this an 8.

Hi Faith, I saw Elizabeth on Survivor and the View. I don't watch Fox either. I try to stay off the News as much as possible. I would rather craft, Bible journal or read. I am reading a couple of books on Advent and a book called Angelwalk. Have a great week!
