Well in just a few more days it will be a new calendar year!
I had set some goals last January for 2024 and I was looking back over my list this morning and realized I met most of them, which makes me happy. I like setting goals. Some of the goals were not met and that's ok! It was fun to set them and maybe I'll carry a couple of them over into 2025.
My summary:
Personal:
I have completed these goals:
Read 4 non-fiction books including 1 biography or autobiography:I actually read NINE which is very unusual for me. It's the first time I've ever read more than 2-3 non-fiction books in one year.
Hike 3x in the High Peaks region –Bailey Pond; Hurricane Mt; Goodnow Mt
Hike 2 new to me trails in the deep woods–Bailey Pond, Lye Brook Falls Vt; Basin Pond; Hoffman Notch trail first mile
Visit 3 more ADK towns for the 102 Challenge before end of Autumn - my oldest daughter and I actually visited SIX more towns in the challenge during the month of August.
Volunteer once a month for a non profit organization or church event: I began doing this monthly about half way through the year. I volunteered at a spring church event, and in September joined an organization called HomeBound where I volunteer weekly. I plan on staying in this volunteer group for 2025.
Personal goals I did not meet: practice piano 3 days a week; hike 1 new to me mountain.
Social:
I have completed these goals:
Have monthly meetings with the new SoulSteps Walking group (we meet September-December and then March-June)
Coffee or lunch dates with at least 3 close friends (this was easy to meet as I meet often with my friend Cindy, Lynn, Monica, my sister Jill. I also met my sister Hope for lunch and friends Monica and Cindy and my 2 daughters Claire and Courtney
Invite 2 couples over for dinner before end of October (we had our young friends and oldest daughter over for Sunday dinner last winter (Scot/Hannah; Courtney) and our friends Bob/Darlene during the summer).
Have monthly date nights with Dave (this is easy to do as well and we will continue to do this..it's good for our marriage
Goals I did not accomplish under this category:
Host two game nights. We are hosting a game day tomorrow though!
I'm not sure I'm going to create an actual list for my new year goals this year but if I do
I'll try to post it by next weekend.
What about you? did you have any personal goals for the year?
