Fitness Fun for Friday

It is such a gorgeous day! I am home from work, ready to get in some fitness for the day. Biking is a great way to improve my cardio routine. I was power walking most of the summer but once the days turn less humid and temps begin to lower, I like to go biking. I use the time to not only improve my heart rate and work my leg muscles but also to pray. What I love the most is being in the fresh air, surrounded by the beauty that God has placed for us here on the earth, and using all of my senses to appreciate that beauty. I find that some of my best "conversations" with the Lord are when I am in His creation. I can pray without interruptions or distractions. I also like to concentrate on praying for my children and their futures when I am on my bike. Staying physically fit or getting in some kind of movement or other physical activity not only benefits me in that way but it can also benefit me emotionally, mentally and spiritually. If I am not talking with God on my bike, then I am releasing stress or just letting my mind become free from concerns, schedules, chores. And then later in the day I feel more energized! I only have time for about a 30 min. bike ride today but.......I am thankful I at least have that! This weekend looks to be a bit busy. I'm taking a small group leadership training class at church tomorrow morning and Sunday will be a day for the 4 of us to spend some time together doing some of our favorite hobbies. We have free tickets to play a round of mini-golf so if the weather continues to be dry and sunny that is where we are headed after church.
Whatever your weekend brings, add some fitness fun to it.....you will benefit physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally! What type of fitness do you like to participate in?
