"Even when the rainbow seems to pass right by me....I'm still finding Gold in the clouds....."

19 February 2008

It's American Idol nite. I am sooo looking forward to cuddling up on the couch next to my 14 year old (it's the 9 year old's turn for the love seat!) and just vegging out. We are gonna light candles and make hot cocoa...well...except for me...I 'll drink tea as has less calories and is better for my sore throat. My day has been so screwed up due to this ear infection and now a touch of the flu. Argh....I had so many plans for today. Dinner was going to be early as Dave has a dinner meeting at a local diner with someone from Campus Crusade for Christ. I have done nothing all day except browse a few blogs and read and sip juice, water and hot tea. Throat is sore, body is chilled, achy, nose runny....you get the idea.I was supposed to go food shopping, take a trip to the library with the kids, take Claire to Lowe's to choose and order her new wallpaper for her bedroom makeover, and bake for my brunch tomorrow. Had to cancel brunch as I don't want my friend and her daughter catching my cold. My husband told me to stay in all day (it is very cold here again with light snow coming down....but...at least it is sunny!). So....God is merciful though.....I am on winter break all week. And that is a blessing from the Lord as being a part time assistant teacher gives me like only 1 sick day per year. Which I need to save for my kids in case they get sick. So....although my plans had to change, the Lord never changes......He is watching over me, over my kids, and my kids even made their own lunch today....yeah! So...around our house tonite it's soup and sandwiches, some fruit and warm fleece throws to wrap up in and watch the guys sing tonite!

oh no, an ear infection. Glad you managed to take time out to look after yourself.

We're watching American Idol right now :) top 24, guys episode. 1st two were not that impressive...

thanks so much for all your messages of support, regarding my mother-in-law. In case you don't read my response to your last comment - would love for your women's group to pray for her. He has 3 siblings who don't believe so would be great if you could include them in your prayers.

HI Tali:
we agree here at our house too! The first few episodes weren't that impressive. We like (the guys) David the young teen, and Jason (the one with the dreadlocks), we liked Luke until last nite...he wasn't that great. I also like the guy who sang last but I don't remember his name (michael??).
I will definitely tell my women's group about your mom and we will pray for her. Keep me posted!
