But...the good news is that I woke up early on Saturday to yet more rain and checked email. And thank the Lord I did because I discovered that her 2nd dress rehearsal was Sunday afternoon not Sat. a.m.! So...I made coffee, etc. played a computer game with Claire who was also up early and did the dusting. For the rest of the day, the girls just hung out, played, read books, watched movies. We had a nice day at home the entire day.....it felt great!
Sunday was church at 11 and then Dave came home. He was tired from the Youth for Christ event. He slept, the oldest did homework and Claire and I headed back to church for a 3 hour dress rehearsal. It was kind of nice getting back to work this a.m.!
I enjoyed our sermon yesterday with our pastor. He spoke about multi-site churches and why we need them. (we will become a multi-site church in autumn). It was a very informative sermon and set some fears I had to rest. I don't like change. I admit it. Some change is necessary in our lives, I know that! I have had to deal with ALOT of change! But...that still doesn't mean I like it. I think I tend to embrace it better, with more peace, than when I was in my 20's and 30's. I think that those of us in our 40's just seem to "go with the flow" a little easier now....but...maybe it is also because I have learned that God really IS in control if we let Him be! You know what I mean? So....I have stuff to share about the multi-site method but will save it for another post. I love how our pastor tied it to the early church in the book of Acts. It was very helpful for me.
Now, it is Monday which means that after school, Claire will have math and language arts homework and I will get some laundry done. We both have to eat early tonite, by 5, as we need to be at the final dress rehearsal by 6 pm. Courtney will have homework and Dave just wants to get some more rest. Dinner will be easy. The rest of the week will be a normal week except that we do have a leadership meeting/teaching and I have my monthly women's small group, which means my oldest will babysit her younger sister those 2 evenigns and put her to bed. She will be happy as I pay her when we have to be out for ministry purposes. She is really learning to tithe her weekly allowance (from extra chores) and her babysitting money, so this is good! Our weekend will be busy due to the HizKidz Praise! production of "Nic at Nite". It will be performed at all 3 services this weekend. We expect many unsaved relatives to come. There are about 40 children in the cast. Should be lots of fun and the gospel message will be brought forth in song, dance and drama. We have also invited several friends/families from our former church as we think they would really enjoy the show. We are hoping they come!
Here is my menu plan for the week. This really helps me with my food shopping which is done for the week (well, until I have to pick up the veggie platter at the deli for the cast party on Sunday). My girls also like the fact that they can know what is for dinner on any given evening...of course sometimes I change things around but for the most part I stick with it. Around our house: we have learned to be flexible!
