Here is a corner of my front yard flower bed. It goes all along the front of my house from where the tiny front porch ends to the end of the house. It is in front of my 2 living room windows. This is the only tulip that came up out of like 15! I believe the rabbit I saw living under our deck all winter may have dug up the bulbs...do rabbits do that? Or could have been a squirrel. Just behind and to the right of the tulip is my pink rose bush.....I have had it since 1995. I just trimmed it way back this past autumn. And behind that and in far front corner (can't be seen here) I have white peonies and purple irises that will be in bloom come June. Does anyone know what the blue flowers are called? Planted them about 4 years ago, can't remember the name. Am too lazy/busy to google 'em!

The last pic I want to share with you today is one that shows my absolute favorite reading/resting spot for "my" time. Every woman/mommy should have a special spot for relaxing, reflecting and reading! This part of our deck is just off our family room via a sliding glass door and it gets the morning sun. I like reading the Word out there and having devotions with my a.m. coffee in the summer. I also like the fact that it is shady here in the mid afternoon/early evening. We eat dinner every nice evening on the deck. My husband and teen daughter bought these chairs last summer for camping/the beach. I liked them so much I decided to use them on the deck since they can stay out in rain and won't rust. And they are easier to clean than those resin kind of which we have 2. The yellow flower pot is ceramic and was a birthday gift from my great friend, Erin (thanks again, Erin!). This year I am growing some kind of flower I saw at Home Depot that I can't remember the name of. The flower has a light scent. My husband built our deck in 1996, (the house was 2 years old) just in time for me to throw him a deck birthday party. My oldest had just turned 3. The next year he built the trellis shown here. I have morning glories that go up the side and this year I added wildflowers (hopefully they will grow) in the flower box that is on the other side. I love wildflowers because they attract butterflies....my favorite insect after dragonflies.
I hope you enjoyed some glimpses of around our house.

Your pictures and descriptions made me dream about the beautiful days to come! We have so much to be thankful for. Enjoy your deck and your special tulip!
Love,
Deb
Everything looks so nice! I especially like your little reading spot; the perfect place to curl up with a good book. :)
Could the blue flowers be Ceanothus?
Hi Deb: yes, I will enjoy my tulip...although I do have a few more around the cherry trees...but boy...that red one sure looks lonely in the main bed!
Hi Mrs C: thanks for stopping by. I love having a reading spot! and a huge glass of sweet iced tea.
I have no idea about those flowers. I need to look up that word!
Mrs. T,
Your blue flowers look like they could be a type of Hyacinth to me.
Hi JO: I think you're right! My neighbor thinks they are in the hyacinth family, too! ALl I know is they get a little bigger each spring...they started out so tiny you could barely see them! Thanks for stopping by!
oops, think I lost my comment. I just want to say what a lovely yard you have and I love your reading corner and swinging angel!
