"Even when the rainbow seems to pass right by me....I'm still finding Gold in the clouds....."

What a fantastic weekend I had! The weather was simply gorgeous. On Friday evening my oldest spent a couple of hours at the Youth Center with her friends from church. Dave and I just hung out at home and we watched this great tv presentation about the funniest comedy shows. I think Lucille Ball has got to be the funniest woman ever to be on tv! While this was on, I had to spend some time with my youngest playing the above game. (she won!). She is an "acts of service" child and although I really just wanted to veg out with Dave, I needed to do something with her. But....it was good...sometimes the whole 5 years age difference is tough because she sees her big sister going off to hang out with friends and she so much wants to do that...but.....she is only 9..so... I ended up enjoying my time with her though and the Lord showed me that these moments are precious....they are only little for a short time.
Low 60's on Saturday with a perfect blue sky until late afternoon when it became a bit cooler and cloudy...but...no rain! So we were able to have our first "backyard s'more tasting" of the season, after dinner. We sat around the firepit until about 9 pm....I lingered a little longer than the girls....after eating several marshmallows they decided to head inside to leave me with some much needed quiet time! I was able to chat with a friend on the phone and then just meditate for awhile about some things. My husband doesn't like sitting around the firepit unless we are camping...then he really enjoys it...I had it all to my self!
On Sunday morning, my youngest (remember: "acts of service") and hubby made me a delicious, but oh so fattening, breakfast....it was soooo good! Then we had church where our pastor had an awesome sermon for Mother's Day. I appreciate our pastor so much....he has a very busy job...he does 3 services every weekend. And I always learn something! I am not exaggerating..I truly walk away with something new each and every week. I am so thankful the Lord led us here....I cannot believe it has only been 3 years come June! After church, my honey and the girls took me to Eagle Crest (a golf place a bit north of us) for some lunch, mini-golf and dessert. It was a nice afternoon and the sky was a beautiful blue. A nice way to spend Mother's Day. I am thankful I had a relaxing weekend because I had a tough week last week.....I think the Lord really blessed me and I pray you had a blessed Mother's Day as well! I won't be blogging much this week as I need to focus on some other things.....but...I will still visit some of my favorite blogs...and....I will be back soon!
I'm glad you had a nice relaxing Mother's Day. Sitting by the fire...all by yourself, talking to a friend on the phone sounded sooooo relaxing. How sweet of them to fix you breakfast and then taking you to lunch on top of that. They did a great job of making their dear Mommy feel special on her special day!!
THANKS so much for stopping by my blog and for the sweet comment you left. I'm sorry it took me so long to get back with you. I've been spending a lot of time outside (gardening and flowers and LOTS of yard work... LOL!) Sometimes a gal just needs to keep busy. ;-)
Anyway.. I'm glad to hear that you had such a great Mother's Day! It sounds PERFECT! Mine was pretty nice too. It's always hard to face holidays without Brent (our oldest son) but I'm SO THANKFUL for all the blessings I have as we look forward to our reunion in HEAVEN!

Your Mother's Day sounds lovely.
I have the same thing with my girls being 5 years apart. The younger wants to get right in there with the older girls when they are over.

Have a good day Faith!
Faith, sounds like you had a great day. I did too. I would have loved to join you at the fire pit for "meditation" time. That's right up my alley.
Blessings!
