Monday Musings

FOR TODAY

Outside my Window...is a hazy, blue sky with very high humidity and full sun!

I am thinking...I need to get a load of laundry in the washer and do some general pick-up in the family room and I wish I could have our windows open instead of running the AC!

I am thankful for...the fact that there are only 8 full days of school left and 5 half days...and then summer vacation!! (I don't teach summer school)

From the kitchen...grilled salmon with chives/lemon marinade, garlic roasted rice, tossed salad, sliced nectarines & red grapes drizzled with orange juice dressing

I am creating...a list of potential hiking trails to tackle this summer and autumn

I am going...to water my flowers/yard as soon as my oldest gets off the bus

I am wearing...my work clothes: white cotton capris, a flower print, sleeveless tunic and white shell bracelet, silver oval earrings

I am reading... nonfiction set in the Adirondacks; a novel by Chris Bohjalian titled "Before You Know Kindness". I am also re-reading Ruth Bell Graham's book of poetry and I am in the book of Isaiah for my morning devotions.

I am hoping...my youngest daughter's dress rehearsal is not more than 2 hours on Friday!

I am hearing...the hum of the central air conditioning unit

Around the house...my perennials are in full bloom as is my hanging basket of pink geraniums; some of the wildflowers are blooming and the sunflower stems are getting taller!

One of my favorite things...iced tea with crushed ice, lemon wedges

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...Take Claire to final ballet class on Tues and remember to purchase show tickets; order boat tote and water sandels for the kayaks OR hop over to LLBEan after teaching tomorrow a.m. to see if they have them at the store; finish up Courtney's bedroom (re-organzing), finish up the plans for Father's Day; prepare the house for both sets of grandparents who will be here all day Sat; get to work late on Friday so I can buzz over to Claire's school and watch the 3rd grade musical presentation; attend Dress Rehearsal with Claire on Friday evening; take Claire to her dance audition (for dance camp) at church on Sat. a.m.; pick up the peach pie at Shaker Shed on Sat afternoon; Attend the Dance Show on Sat. evening.

So glad to see you playing along; I haven't posted a Daybook entry for today--maybe I'll get around to it later. ;)
