"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!"

I am thankful for many things. Here are the things that God is using to help me feel full this week. What about you? What things are you most thankful for as we wind down the end of the school year?
  • Hugs from Children: the children in the K. class give the best hugs, besides my own daughters! When D--- ( has Down Syndrome) gave me a hug on stage yesterday after our performance, it melted my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Teaching, even assisting, has brought me great joy and I am thankful for the opportunity to stay in Special Education that the Lord has blessed me with.
  • Job Security: I just found out that my half-time position has been approved by the district for next school year! Thank you Lord! Now....if I only knew if I can stay in the same classroom.....(won't find out until end of August)
  • Teachers: I won't go into much here.....you know I am biased towards the Education field!! I could talk about education and the importance of Christians shining the Light of Jesus in the public school arena and it would make for a very long post (and I might annoy some homeschooling mom). SO: I will say a huge THANK YOU GOD for all the teachers in private and public schools who not only teach all day, but often must be a social worker, surrogate character developer/moral compass, nurse, psychologist, police officer, health inspector, and many more things. I have truly enjoyed each and every teacher I have ever worked alongside and every teacher that my children have had throughout the years. Some were Christians; many were not, to my knowledge, but their love of education, reading, writing and children was evident in all that they did. I am truly thankful for teachers who help us to raise up our children.
  • My Oldest Daughter, Courtney: she has been a huge blessing to me this week. She had 3 exams early in the week (Honors English 9, Math 10R, and Studio Art). She has been home for the last 2 days helping with chores and light housework. She has helped to entertain/play with her little sister so I could get some errands done after school. She has had a good attitude about me not buying new jewelry, getting nails or hair done for the Youth Group Banquet tomorrow nite. I did tell her I would get her a disposable camera so she can have fun snapping pics during the dinner/dance/festivities. And I bought her an awesome pair of heels to go with the dress from her cousin. She is slowly learning about keeping on a budget and I am thankful for her good attitude this week!
Those are the main things this week that I am thankful for.

What things are you most thankful for today??
