Something New

I went to Susanne's blog this a.m. and saw she is hosting something new. So decided since I am waiting for yet more camping pics to download, I would participate in her thing: Favorite Five. I have to write about my 5 favorite things from this past week. So here goes:

  • a Profit! Yes...I made a nice profit from my last 2 Avon orders! Yippee....this is exciting to me as my customer base is small. Don't know how long I'm gonna stick with selling Avon on the side, but for now....yeah.....discounts and a profit! (enough to justify the 2 new sweaters I saw online at LLBean! :)
  • These 2 fruits. My hubby decided to make banana-berry smoothies. And both of my daughters decided they now love these fruits. Hallejuah! My absolute favorite was watching my youngest get excited when the blender turned the mixture into a pretty pink. yum....smoothies on a warm evening.

  • The book I am currently reading: "What a Girl Wants". I don't normally like chick lit fiction. Nor Christian fiction unless it is Beverly Lewis. I find it kinda, well, banal, trite, mindless. BUT...this novel, pictured on my side bar is a hoot! It has made me laugh my head off. My 15 year old read it first during our camping trip. She finished it in one day. Apparently there is a sequel. I am hoping our town library has it. It is just so comical. A bit mindless but hey.....sometimes reading a novel where you really don't have to put much thought into it is a lot of fun!
  • Cooler Temps: yup you heard me. Here in the Northeast, Capital Region of NYS, it is usually wicked humid this time of year. But...we have been blessed with perfect summer days these last 2 weeks. The temps have been cool enough to leave the central air off all day and nite! Yeah! (can you say, cheaper electric bill??) Seriously, my favorite season is autumn. The weather is getting perfect for hiking. and that leads me to my final favorite thing of this past week:
  • Neosporin! Thank God for this little tube of ointment. It has really helped that burn to heal well and not sting so much. So...looks like I'll be back on the hiking trail in no time!
If ya wanna participate in this, just go over to Susanne's place at Living to Tell the Story.

Hi Faith
I'm going away 10th sept for a few days time out with my man and 2 little ones, just northern beaches of sydney about 90mins away. Anyways, I always try to read at least one book, so was going to see what you were reading and recommended...and looks like I've found one. I tend to read mindless ones on holiday :) who's the author please Faith?
