I have to make this a short list today although my heart is overflowing with "thanks" to my Lord and Savior for this past week. I have to get my youngest out of school in less than an hour and get her over to her 2nd ortho appt....so......I'll do a better list next week!!

• The main thing I am thankful for is HUGE news to my family and some friends. The principal of my youngest daughter's elementary school announced at Open House on Tuesday evening that there will no longer be a Halloween "celebration". PRAISE GOD, Thank you JESUS! (I've prayed about this for years and the school I used to teach full time in did away with it for "multi-cultural" purposes. However, the public schools around here still tend to "celebrate" this holiday). I know this is a conviction area for Evangelical Christians, as it should be, but...for my family personally, we don't celebrate it and always had to pull our daughters out of school after the morning session. So....
  
• A huge Thank You to our principal (who is a Christian) for taking this stand. She is getting some flack so please help me pray that she will remain strong in her decision. The children can still have a party but the focus will be on "harvest" and no costumes will be allowed. YEAH!
  

• For the glorious weather we are enjoying here in capital region of NYS. Perfect autumn days and chilly nites...my favorite. Thank you Lord for your gorgeous colors.

E-Mom: if you're reading this, thank you for your comments about Gary Thomas' book that you left me...I did see it but didn't have time to email you. I will definitely check out that other book you mentioned....sounds great. I am guessing I'll be in the naturalist category??
