Pics

Courtney at the Art Gallery
on Broadway, Albany, NY

Her Drawing piece is the one at the very top.
Other students from her high school are below hers
and to the right. The one to the right was drawn by a male student
and depicts how transportation has evolved in the last 400 years here in the capital region.

A first: having a drawing chosen by an outside (of school)
panel of judges

and
winning Honorable Mention!

First place went to a teen from another school district. There was only First place and then Honorable Mention. 5 students from Courtney's high school have their Drawings represented as well. There were about 20 art students' drawings displayed in the gallery, all in commemoration of the Quadricentennial Celebration of the Hudson and the city of Albany. The students were from several area school districts and a few were from a Christian school near us.

How Fashions have evolved in 400 years.
Courtney's award winning Drawing
currently hanging in the Broadway Art Gallery in downtown Albany!

The Spring Banquet Cake
homemade by Emily V's mom
(Thank you Sabra!!)

The theme for the evening was "around the world"
Note the cute items for each continent or country Eiffel tower, taj mahal, sydney opera house, penguin,
great wall of china,
I think there was a small statue of liberty...hard to see.....

Watching Courtney get ready
with make-up
was so much fun.
She also wanted you to see the back of her gown
Please ignore the messy daybed and dresser....

Barrett (senior) and Courtney (sophomore)
at end of Banquet.

We will miss Barrett...he is going to college in Florida!

Well, the school year for my sophomore is winding down.
She has a few exams left this week and one next week.
Then she will officially be a junior, and beginning to review the DMV booklet so she can get her learners permit come July!
Hard to believe she turns 16 on July 11. Time flies.....

Now...we are on to celebrate Claire. My 10 year old has her last ballet class tonite and then on Friday a very looooonnnnggggg dress rehearsal awaits us. Saturday the in-laws will arrive for the Dance Show. We are thrilled that they are coming all this way just to see Claire dance in a 30 minute ballet. (she no longer takes tap).
Also planning on coming are her HizKidz Praise ministry director and asst. director and the directors daughters. (Thank you Candace, Gail and girls!) Also the dance choreographer and her fiance.(Thank you Mary!)
Claire is just so excited about dancing with her class and having her very first real ballet solo. She is dancing in Coppelia. Her class is dancing to a piece from it called "The Prayer". I cannot remember the name of Claire's solo piece!
Of course I'll have pics to share next week.

Isn't it a blessing to delight in the accomplishments of our own children? I know I enjoy reading of my friends' childrens' accomplishments and love looking at pictures of them......
God is good and I love how He gives people so many different talents and giftings.
Enjoy the day everyone!
