It's been quite a few weeks since I participated in the Thursday Thanks Tank post.Thank you to Pam for the idea of giving thanks weekly via our blogs! If you have never visited her, go here......she has a great blog!
I am supposed to be taking my 10 year old daughter and her best friend from school to one of our local lakes today....but...looking out this basement window I see quite a bit of grey sky....so....a new plan might need to be made :(
and therefore, I'm going to have to keep my list short and simple. But...sometimes, it's thanking God for those simple things that get us stirred up to start thinking on the "bigger" things He blesses us with...or the more spiritual.....
the Simple Things that I am thankful for this week:
- lazy summer days to sleep in until 8
- a.m. coffee on the deck in the morning sun....it's been a nice, hot, sunny week
- hugs from my 10 year old daughter
- a 16 year old daughter who is less moody and more willing to do chores around the house, including baking banana bread last week with her lil sis! LOVED THIS!
- keeping in touch with high school and college friends via FB....so much fun to catch up!
- this Scripture: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you." Jeremiah 31:3
- the profusion of wildflowers in my backyard......Claire and I plan on planting even more seeds next spring...they are so beautiful and maintenance free!!
- Sweet tea from McDonalds on a stifling hot day after running all over town looking for just the "right" pair of sneakers for my 5th grader.....
- sales coupons for sneakers!
- the 40% off sale this week at Macy's and Gap: got some great buys!
- friends who easily forgive
- a fantastic music ministry at church who make it easy to enter into praise and worship, even when I don't "feel" like worshipping or am distracted by the "stuff" of life
- for a Redeemer who loves us no matter what....and Who never rejects us or turns away

Mcdonalds sweet tea is horrible compared to the real stuff. You need to go south for the real stuff. Arizona sweet tea is close to it.

Great thankful post! I love sweet tea from Mcdonalds! I am thankful for my Redeemer so much! And family and friends who forgive easily too!

Ok, the flower pic is not one I took. When I post pics I take, I typically put a caption underneath..this came from the online ADK Photo Gallery. Title is "Wildflower in the Adirondacks".
The Connecting book by Larry Crabb is most excellent. I recommend it for small group leaders/pastors/counselors/mentors or for those of us who just want to explore our deeper friendships and how to REALLY connect in the body of Christ.
And Sweet Tea from McD's is the only Sweet tea i've ever had so....and it's about the only thing I will let my self buy from that place!
