Friday Fave Fives

It's Friday!
And in our school district, we have Monday off!!
(Jewish holiday)

So....I am planning on having a nice, relaxing 3 day weekend and hopefully, if it doesn't rain, a hiking trip on Monday. Saturday is chores and hopefully meeting a friend of mine whom I haven't seen in over 10 years...in fact, I don't think she has ever met my youngest daughter. She moved to Tennessee a number of years ago and we have reconnected thru Facebook!
I am also friends with her sister and with her cousin. I am hoping we will be able to meet for lunch tomorrow........
meanwhile.....

here are 5 favorite things from the last week:

Kayaking with my husband, Dave
(shown here)
on Moreau Lake.
It is a man-made lake in a small town

about 35 min. north of where we live.

It is one of my most favorite places in the southern Adirondacks.
This was last Saturday
and the weather was just perfect for
an afternoon of kayaking!
Unfortunately, it might have been our last trip until May!
But....there's always hiking! :)

My youngest daughter, Claire
(in foreground)
at her first Advanced Ballet class.
She and one other peer was invited
to
join the Advanced class this year.
She is still in the Intermediate Class for an hour.
The Advanced Class has 2 girls who are in 10th grade
and one girl who is in 8th grade.

So...Claire and her friend are the only "little" girls.
They are taking it for the first hour which is barre work.
Then they decided Claire could try some of the floor work.
I was totally surprised, as was Claire.
She did an awesome job!
Now...I have to get super organized...
because from now on she will have her regular ballet class for one hour,
then a one hour break

(in which she and I eat dinner in the lobby!)
and then she has another class for 1 1/2 hrs.
The only thing she will not do this year is pointe.
She is still too young...
but she is prepping for it!!

This is one of my oldest autumnal decorations
but also one of my most favorite!
It is just a simple wicker basket
filled with silk maple leaves
in
all the colors of autumn.

This picture on the wall
between my living room and kitchen.
This is a wall that I tend to decorate according to season.
So this past week I started decorating for autumn,
which is
my absolute fave season!

This Scripture from Isaiah 49:16.
I like how it reads in the
New King James version:
"See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands..."
God writes our names on His Hands!

It is like He is holding us......
and
I needed that this week...
that reminder of this Truth.

I think some of my friends have needed it too.
It is good to remind each other of God's Truths.

So....if you want to join in and play this meme, simply head over to Susanne's place found here.

And leave me a comment stating at least one of your favorite things from this past week!!

Also please note: due to some readers not seeming to understand the boundaries I have put in place on my blog (found in the comment section about not leaving "anonymous" comments) I have had to monitor comments by restricting just who can comment. I do not tolerate rude or disparaging remarks and I totally dislike the Word of God being used with out reference to the Scripture or why it is being typed, since several times in the last week, they have not seemed to have anything to do with the post. I also will only be accepting comments if you leave your name!

That scripture has really ministered to me this week! It's been a rough couple of weeks and it is so comforting to know God cares for me that much. I love the Amplified version of that verse which say we are indelibly tatooed in His palm.

Claire is really advancing well in her ballet. She is a talented little girl.

I'm going to start my fall decorating this week. I can hardly wait. I love fall colors.
