I have done some fairly "serious" posts lately......with things that the Lord has either put on my heart, is teaching me, that I am struggling with or just praying about....so.......it's time for some fun stuff!!

Time for another week of randomness with Linda, affectionately known as "Lid". Head over to her place to get the scoop and join in!

1. Tell me something about your favorite teacher: my fave teacher was my music/choral/theory teacher from high school. He was handsome, a great tenor, and most of us girls had a crush on him. He was one of my faves cause music was like my life back then....I ended up being a music ed major in college, even tho my grad degree is in Special Ed. Piano was like my entire life back then and he used to let me accompany the chorus when I wasn't singing. And he always selected me to go to All County and All State for Choir which I absolutely loved! He was inspiring, fun and gave us challenging music to perform.

2. Tell me about one pivotal moment in your life. Oh boy.....there are actually so many!! Stuff that occured in childhood.....graduate school, teaching in inner city Albany, marriage, childbirth (all natural I might add :) ), the death of a close friend, the "birth" of a new friendship that was totally God-ordained......what to choose?? guess I am gonna choose the most important thing: accepting Jesus into my heart as my personal Lord and Savior. It was July 12, 1975...I was 15. It was at church camp. I felt so pure and clean. And I cannot imagine my life without my Savior and Redeemer. He is the friend we turn to when we can't turn to any one else......

3. About favorite colors--a lot of people will ask you what it is, but I want to know why it is. What feeling or memory does it evoke?
I have 3 faves: cerulean blue, lime green, white. (I know, that is just a shade but....). Why cerulean blue? because I am a naturalist by spiritual temperament. Therefore, this color reminds me of the heavenly skies.....the kind of blue that you see here in the Northeast on a crisp, sunny autumn day. Lime Green because it is fun. It is actually my favorite summer color. I love most shades of green because again, it is the naturalist in me.....reminds me of my beloved woods and mountains. And white because it represents purity. And purity is very important to me.

4. What's a sure sign that you're getting older?
My children are getting older. Therefore, I am! That and the fact that I have to color my roots every 5 weeks......

5. Please don't sermonize, but Halloween--is it a yes or no for you? No, and zipping my lips now.

6. What's your favorite musical?
This is a tough one!! Here in the T-----home we LOVE musicals. In fact, we collect them. My all time favorite is Sound of Music (think mountains and music!). My 2nd one would probably be West Side Story. The music and plot are phenomenal.

7. Are you more of a city mouse or country mouse?
I like both....I no longer live in the city as I didn't want to raise my children in the public schools of the one we live near (the capital) but.....I love the country too, especially the Adirondacks.....but living there year round is so impractical due to no businesses up there other than tourism and the harsh winters. So....suburbia it is for us. Until we retire!

8. Did you know that it is possible, for a small fee, to name a real star after someone? (It's true! Google it!) If someone were to name a star for you, would you appreciate it for its whimsy and romance, or would you say, "Are you kidding me? For $19.95 we could have gone to the movie and actually bought popcorn.
I would LOVE it....mainly because my love language is gifts. So if my husband or a friend did that....I would be THRILLED!!

This question comes from Paula at His Ways Are Not Our Ways.
9. What's the craziest thing you've ever been doing and texted during it?
um....not sure....I just started unlimited texting this summer so.....probably tried to text and drive and my teen actually had to tell me "mom this is against the law" (here in NYS it actually goes into effect on Sunday) Since driving isn't really "crazy" (well my husband thinks I'm a crazy driver.....actually HE is.....) I guess driving and texting isn't really crazy.....is it? it IS unsafe though :)

10. "It's not a party unless _______."
Dave and I are there.

11. When you're stuck in traffic or a waiting room, what do you do to pass the time? PS: There are no magazines available.
I almost always have a book and cell with me. So, I'd read, text, chat with a friend or people watch. (reminder: I have an Ed Psych MS so people watching is just awesome......I love to try to "analyze"....lol.....)

12. If you weren't yourself, would you be friends with you? I hope so.

Fun answers Faith. Isn't nice to have a teacher that was encouraging and inspiring?

Wow, my heart goes out to you and your school district, first of all.

#5: Me too, but we're in the minority.

Great answers. Hope you can play again next week.
