Catching Up

My youngest daughter
Claire, age 10

It's the week of the HizKidzPraise show!
They are performing "Operation Christmas Child" based on the real shoebox ministry of the international organization Samaritan's Purse, headed by Franklin Graham, son of the Rev. Billy Graham.

Claire is loving this show!
Pictured behind her in the photo are some of the members of the cast.
She is here at the final rehearsal, practicing her lyrical ballet solo to a song from the musical. The title of the song is "I will Worship You". My prayer is that she will indeed be worshipping the Lord while dancing.

So...life has been a bit busy here this week.
My oldest daughter collected several Operation Xmas Child shoeboxes from members of the high school LIFE club yesterday. We need to get those over to the church. (LIFE club is the on campus Christian club for teens to share their faith. About 4 churches are represented by members in the club.).

My husband is on the left coast, as we call it, this week for business. He is in Portland, Oregon.
He says the temperature is colder there than here on the East coast. We are indeed enjoying a very mild November. Temps have been in low 50's most of the month and the sun and blue skies have made me long to go hiking. But...I think that activity is on hold until April!

For those of you who knew what was going on with my health last week, I am much better. Still on the antibiotic to make sure the staph bacteria is totally gone but I am now able to resume my normal activities for which I am most grateful!

We've shopped for gifts to fill our own OCC boxes and they are all set to bring to the first night of the show. My parents are coming in to town to see it and will spend one night with us. Dave's folks cannot make this one but they will be here later in December to see Courtney's high school orchestra concert and celebrate Claire's 11th birthday with us, as well as do the xmas gift exchange.

I need to shop tomorrow for a formal dress for my husband's company Xmas Party which is the week we get back from Thanksgiving vacation. I am most thankful that my youngest daughter has a playdate all lined up for tomorrow afternoon as she only has a half day of school and she is SOOOO not a shopper. She'll get to play with American Girl dolls and I'll get to shop in peace!

This time of year we are preparing to head back to the T-----family beach house to celebrate Thanksgiving. This year we are doing something a bit different. We will be serving in a soup kitchen on the actual holiday and putting off our own feast until the next day. I think this will be a good experience for everyone involved!

So....that's about it for around our house......what about you?

Will you be traveling for Thanksgiving vacation?

Will you be cooking??

Share what you will be doing.....I promise to read each and every comment!!

Have a great week!

Claire is absolutely lovely! Who wrote the script for the show? What's the story line? Really, really curious. We love Operation Christmas Child. Such terrific PR!

Pleased to know you're feeling so much better. Yay, hooray, PTL!

Now wait a minute... the left coast??? (Just kidding. Yes, we're mostly blue states out here. Sigh.)
Yes, it's cold and rainy up here in Puget Sound.

What am I up to this week? A little decorating to freshen things up for the holidays... hanging new curtains, painting two accent walls, etc. Fun!

Hugs, e-Mom

That is a great picture of Claire. I also love the other pics you have posted on FB. What a major production! Wow, may God use it greatly! So glad to hear you are feeling better...PTL! Sounds like a very busy week!

E-mom: I believe the script and music was written by a woman named Kathie Hill. She has some cute musicals. My friend (the one who is the director of the ministry) also adds in some of her own original lines/adds parts, etc. so more children can have a role. She is very good at the drama thing!! We are blessed.

Sandy, thanks! I might not have more on FB but I definitely will post more here next week before leaving for the cape.
