Ok.....I am posting this a day early because I won't have time in the morning before work to do so and tomorrow afternoon I have other household chores that await my attention! I was on my laptop a lot this afternoon while the plumber was here. Again. ~~sigh~~ what a week. But...thank the Lord the drip in the tub is gone! Of course our checking account is a bit lighter now AND I was fitted for my bridge...yeah...I have 2 teeth again in the empty space I have had for 16 years! But wow....although, thankfully, the dental insurance covered much of it, we still ended up paying almost half. But I am thankful that God gave us the opportunity to pay for this dental work. I just need to re-learn how to chew on that left side! :)
A big thank you goes to Susanne for hosting this fun meme each week. Link up with her over here and have fun choosing your 5 favorite things from the week!
Here are my 5 favorite things from the past week:

This movie! Last weekend, from Friday night until Monday afternoon, my husband and my oldest daughter were at the huge high school youth group convention, EXCEL. My youngest daughter wanted to play on the Wii sports game and work on the computer Sunday evening so I watched The Kite Runner, a very adult movie (or one for mature teens)
I never did read the book when it came out which was why I chose the movie. I often prefer the book to the movie. So...if the book is better than the movie, then WOW! This was truly one of the most memorable movies I have seen in a very long time. The whole friendship theme just really resonated with me. I highly recommend this flick but beware: the PG-13 label is extremely accurate and in fact, I think it probably should be rated R due to some implied abuse that is not quite shown but....the implication of what is happening is very evident. Also, some violence which, again, is not super graphic but disturbing enough. Needless to say, it really makes my fave five list for the theme.

The perfect blue sky today (it is Thursday....the afternoon I am writing most of this!). This is the view from my backyard deck. I love the cerulean blue of summer, as you know, but the crispness in the cold air (it is only 34 today) and the bright blue just thrilled me. And the warm sun felt great as I swept out the garage after teaching this a.m. I love the bright blue sky!!

Seriously.....Dave is the love of my life and if it weren't for him, my new laptop would be ka-boom. It got hit with some kind of weird anti-virus scam on Monday which turned out to be a bad bug. And poor Dave had just walked in the door after dealing with over 70 teens from our church all weekend! But....he sat down and fixed the problem and I made sure I made him an awesome dinner! He is a great guy!
So...that's it for my favorite things from the last week.
What is at least one thing from the last week that you would call a fave?? please do share by leaving a comment or linking up with Susanne to do your own Fave Five post!!

Hi Faith! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hmmmm, what is my one fave of the week? I have been trying out some new recipes this week, so I would have to say that it was the Teriyaki Chicken that I fixed on Tuesday!
Loved reading your Fave Fives. The blue sky sure looked great. I've not seen blue sky here in Ohio for days!!! It's THAT time of year! :-)
Hello Faith! How fabulous that you and your husband have such a great relationship and that he's watching out for the girls :0)
Have a wonderful weekend!!
I really liked reading your blog, it's wonderful! It see you're a special ed teacher; I'm an OT with our special ed program in our parish. Isn't it a wonderful job and ministry?
Just a note - I had a hard time finding where to post a comment and was about to give up when I noticed where to click - the font color is very faint, and blends into the surrounding color a lot. Just thought I'd mention it. :)
How nice of your hubby to work on your computer when he must have been exhausted. I know that appreciation of a techno guy, too. My hubby just installed windows 7 for me after a long day of work and it took awhile with a few unclear things happening with it. And he's still bit by bit setting things up for me on the laptop he bought me for my birthday. I don't know what I'd do without this techy knowledge!
We like grapefruits too and they were on sale last week but it didn't register with me to buy some. Duh. LOL. I guess I was in too much of a hurry.
Pink grapefruit is definitely a fav at our house. I cheat and buy the cupsful at Costco... on sale this week! :~D
