Fall Reading Challenge Book Review #6

Just finished book #6 during this fall reading challenge sponsored by Katrina from Callapiddar Days blog.

I've been waiting for this novel, the 10th in the Murder Women's Club series, since mid-summer!  It finally became available to me at the library this past week...so...I put the other book on hold and read this one in just 4 days.....it's THAT good!  (like almost all of his books!).

Genre:  Mystery

Setting:  San Francisco and a tiny town in Oregon.

Main Characters:  Lyndsay (the Homicide Detective), Claire (the Medical Examiner), Yuki (the  Assistant District Attorney) and Cindy (the newspaper journalist)....these 4 women make up the Murder Women's Club!

Main Plot:  Lyndsay has waited a long time to marry Joe....in the midst of her marriage celebration, a teenage girl is the victim of a horrendous crime...and her newborn baby is now missing!  There is absolutely no trace of the criminal...and... the victim (Avi) might be keeping secrets.

Meanwhile, Yuki is in the midst of prosecuting the biggest case of her life....a woman who has been accused of murdering her husband, in front of her 2 young children.  Yuki's career rests on a guilty verdict but when Lyndsay finds evidence that could save the defendant, Yuki is forced to choose.  Does she trust her best friend or follow her instincts??

and....Lyndsay is trying to start a family with Joe.  Does she get pregnant?  And what happens between her boss, the lieutenant Jackson Brady and her friend Yuki?

My thoughts:

This novel is very fast-paced.  It has so many surprises...Patterson really kept me on my toes and had me turning page after page long after my light should have been out!

I highly recommend this book but....read the first 9 in order!!  They are very good books and the plots are always good.....the character development from book to book really grabs you and you almost feel like you could know these characters.  You might even end up with a couple of fave women.....I do...and I'm not telling you who! You'll have to guess! :)

On a scale of 1- 10 with 10 being the highest, I rate this a 10!!

Not appropriate for readers younger than 17.
