I savor the weekends now.....really savor them and I especially savor the Sabbath Day.....this is what happens when I work full-time! I have less blogging time but I never run out of time to look for the blessings from God. Join with me in looking back over the week and choosing 5 of your fave things/people/places, etc. Large or small blessings...it doesn't matter...it's all from Him!
Many thanks to Susanne from Living to Tell the Story for hosting this each month!
MY FIVE FAVES!
- SNOW! Now, snow doesn't usually make my fave list but because we had been hearing predictions of 4-7 inches for our area of NYS, I headed out EARLY on Saturday morning to do my 2 errands before the flurries started flying. The storm was supposed to hit at noon. It began to snow lightly at about 3 pm. And it didn't amount to too much....only about 2 inches here in our town but enough to break off the top branch of our young maple tree in the backyard.......the fave part? being motivated to head out early on Saturday morning and discovering the grocery store is a good trip to do on a weekend morning. So I have a new routine for this winter....always a fave.
- DOMESTICITY! This doesn't usually make my fave list either but I had a weekend with NO obligations. Saturday, once the snow hit, was spent doing housework....and I got all caught up on laundry, vacuuming, and organizing!! I also baked homemade Chocolate Mint Cookies. You can find the recipe on the back of the Hershey's Mint Chocolate Chip bag. They were yummy!! Order in the home, and fresh-baked goods to go with an evening cup of coffee and a good book......it was a fave way to spend a snowy evening at home!
- TEXTING COURTNEY! My oldest girl (away at college) and I were texting back and forth on Tuesday evening while I was running errands during Claire's ballet class. I was also doing some Xmas shopping so it was great to have her texting me all her "wants and needs". I ended up buying 2 things she really wanted!! And they were on sale! and that's always a fave.....along with "chatting" with my beautiful girl whom I miss so much!!
- Finishing this book! I finished up this novel this week and I just don't have time to do a book review for it. It's one of the books on the Fall Reading Challenge hosted by Callapidder Days blog. It was a great historical fiction based on Hemingway's marriage. If you like his work, read this book...it was fascinating.....even though I much prefer Fitzgerald's novels to Hemingways'. But...reading about life in Paris is always a fave with me.....
- NEW COFFEE! I just tried this coffee for the first time during the small group meeting Thursday evening. This is the Signature Blend. It has a fruity taste with chocolate overtones....and it is RICH! It was a hit with my mom-friends......conversation, small group discussion, and good coffee are always a fave with me......
Of course I have other faves as well: students being successful with their behavior plans and reading work; a husband who helps out on the weekend's chores; my youngest daughter getting 100% on a major Social Studies Explorer project, and warmer, mild autumn temps...........
What about you?
Please share at least one fave from your week in the comment section! I'd love to hear from you!!

This is such a great list! Finding new routines, free weekends, COOKIES!, and texting with our kids. All favorites of mine, too.
Enjoy the weekend:)
I love when you said, "Order in the home, and fresh-baked goods to go with an evening cup of coffee and a good book......it was a fave way to spend a snowy evening at home!" That's one of my faves, too, always!
Texting is how I keep up with my daughters as well. It so great especially when they live away ...
I have felt so rushed lately that I haven't even thought about any favorites of mine. I am going to make that a priority this next week, I am going to really savor each moment before the holiday rush takes me over even more. I do have a favorite now that I think about it, my daughter (who is going to college to be a nurse) got a job as a Certified Nurses Assistant at a nursing home near our home. She loves working with the older people, she has such a wonderful caring heart. I have lots of housecleaning to do this weekend and my sister and I are going to my mother's house Saturday to clean her house really well for her, she can't do it much anymore. Have a great weekend.
Those cookies sounds fabulous! I'm going to look for that recipe when I go to the store. Have a great weekend!
A great week filled with fun touches...snow, cookies, texting and finding the right gift at a good price! Have a great weekend.
One of my faves is visiting my FFF friends on the weekend!
I know what you mean about weekends, Faith. We need to talk sometime. I think my next book project is going to be for working Christian moms.
I do love texting my boys. When you have a grandson, getting surprise photos and videos on your phone is just the BEST! Have a great week ahead!
You had the nice, make you feel good, snuggle in to a warm house snow. Down here it was like an apocalypse! I like your version better. Especially the fresh baked cookies. :)
I'm glad Courtney is doing well at school. Isn't modern technology great? Texts, skype, and all the ways to keep in touch on the internet.
Congratulations to Claire for scoring 100%!
-Catherine
I love that I too, can keep in touch with my girl via txting.
It's nice sometimes to find a new routine and shake things up. I must get myself into some kind of baking mood. I fail majorly in that department.
