In the Silence

snow falling steadily............

leaving its mark on the lawn, road, deck, trees,

..............winter-white and the glare from morning sun.........

all remind me of the glory of God and the stillness I seek in the light of that Glory...............

gazing at our pine tree, on a sunny Sunday morn in the silence that Sabbaths bring

and meditating on the words from Psalm 46:10

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD

I am reminded of the word God put on my heart for this new year.............

............the word "still"........

and I'm excited that I ordered a sterling silver bracelet with that inscription from Ann Voscamp's site..........the one where you can get your word of the year inscribed and wear it and be reminded of what God is going to do in you.............

and prayerfully, through you............

And in this snowy silence I utter a pray for my daughters..........

..............that this would be the year we speak of the deeper things, 

the God things, what Jesus wants to do through them..........and in them............

and the year that the things that distract me....oh, there are so many things...

would be struck down at the foot of the Cross.............

............and I will linger in the stillness..............

to know Him more
