End of March Faves

Wow!  End of March.  I'm actually writing this on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings because if you're reading this on Friday, I will be on my way home (with my husband Dave) from NH for our youngest daughter's Ballet Company show.  More on that next week!

For now, let's pause and find FIVE of our FAVE blessings from this past week and then link up to share with others at Susanne's site.

Claire's Easter box of vegan goodies

  • TREATS!  Claire doesn't want her childhood Easter basket in her dorm room, so I found this cute pastel box at H*bby Lobby and filled it with many of her fave vegan treats. There are even vegan jelly beans now!  I found them at The Fresh Market.  And I bought a box for her roommate (Mackenzie)and filled it with her fave candy. Since UNH is so far from our home and she has classes on Good Friday,  she'll get the box after the show. I'm thankful too that the Girl Scout cookies (Thin Mints are the only vegan ones) came in on Monday so that I can bring them with us.  I'm thankful that I managed to get both girls' boxes ready in time!

  • MOVIE NIGHT:  Dave and I had 2 stay home date nights this past weekend.  We both were so tired on Friday evening from work that we decided to just watch something easy that wouldn't take a lot of effort.  Well, when we saw Netflix had this, we watched it and oh the memories it brought back of when our little girls loved Winnie the Pooh and Tigger and the books/videos.  Winnie the Pooh is a classic and this movie about Christopher Robin all grown up is just poignant.  I highly recommend it even if you never read Winnie the Pooh with your children.  And on Sunday we watched the film pictured below.  We both are huge Julie Andrews fans as well as musical fans and both girls loved Mary Poppins too.  The movie is about the making of the movie and the author of the book that the movie musical is based on.  It's fantastic.  And very sad in spots.  Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks are absolutely brilliant in this flick. I'm thankful we had these two evenings together.

  • BIRDS!  I'm very thankful that in the early morning dawn hours, I can hear the singing of the cardinals, jays, robins, and phoebes.  It definitely means Spring has sprung and the birdsong sometimes begins before my alarm goes off!! I'm thankful for God's creation and the Spring season.

  • ANSWER TO PRAYER! I can't go into details as it involves a former colleague of mine who wishes to remain anonymous.  Let's just say I'm thrilled that she is now a Believer and that her life has changed!!  I'm so thankful she messaged me this past week.

  • BIRTHDAY PARTY!  Last weekend Dave, Courtney and I went north to one of our fave pubs where my youngest sister Jill was hosting her oldest daughter's sweet 16 party. Emma was born on her daddy's (Mike) birthday!  So it was really a party for both of them :)  We had so much fun watching her interact with her school and church friends and the food, cake and drinks were fantastic.  It's always fun to see family.  I'm thankful we were able to go.
That wraps up my faves for the week.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I'm glad to hear that the Christopher Robin movie was so good. I'm wanting to see that as well as the new Mary Poppins when it comes out on DVD. I've also got Saving Mr. Banks. Tom Hanks was so good as Walt Disney.

What nice Easter treats! I'm sure both girls will appreciate them. I loved that Christopher Robin movie, even though it didn't reflect the real Christopher Robin (he enjoyed his fame as a child but in adulthood came to resent his father using him in his stories). Our boys had grown up watching Pooh, and I loved that this movie made the voices sound so much like the original films. We watched this movie with my two younger sons and had mane "Awww" nostalgic moments. I'd love to see Saving Mr. Banks, too.

The answer to prayer sounds wonderful!

Hope you had a great trip!
