I just found out about this fun little meme via a blogger friend's site. Thanks, Deb! How fun to do this today while I wait for yet another sinus headache to pass.
Apparently I link up over at this person's blog. Never heard of her until today but this might be fun!
1. Do you buy things when you want them or wait for sales?
Well now that depends. For clothing like hiking gear or workwear, I tend to shop sales. For things like groceries, I buy certain brands even if they're not on sale. I mean come on...Starbucks coffee! Gotta have it!
2. Do you think time moves slowly or quickly? hm...well....when I'm busy teaching in the classroom the time seems to fly by. When I'm sitting in a boring meeting, the time drags. Overall, time goes by so fast...how is it that I am 62 already and my daughters are 28 and 23?? WHERE did the time go?? seems like yesterday they were still little.
3. How often do you spend time alone? Depends. If you mean time alone as in the house alone, not much, as Dave is still working from home. But..I'm a firm believer that women...especially working women..need time alone at least 10 min per day so usually I spend 10-35 min taking a walk in nature almost every day and I read for about 30 min every evening in my little corner of the living room while Dave is in the family room. So....about 30 min-1 hour daily of alone time. I actually enjoy it!
4. What's something that has changed in the last month? My home decor! All Christmas stuff is put away and I have a couple of "winter" things displayed along with Valentine decor (A red heart wreath in living room, a red/white Valentine's wreath on front door, a hearts welcome sign on the kitchen door, etc)
5. What's the best part of your job/profession? I get to play while teaching! Play is child's work and because I teach special education prek students, play is incorporated in all of our day. Everything we do is centered around play and language based activities. I love seeing their growth over the school year. I also love all the paid vacations and the perks we receive from our agency.
6. How many pens do you have? um...who counts their pens?? no idea. hahah
7. What are your healthiest habits? I eat plant-based meals most of the week. I gave up pork and beef and most turkey (except a small piece on thanksgiving) back in 2014. I gave up all dairy milks and ice cream (I do still consume cheddar and mozzarella/paremsan cheeses a couple times a week) about 10 years ago. I only use unsweetened almond milk on cereal or in my coffee and I bake with creamy oat milk if a baked good requires milk. I also take a daily probiotic and phytosterols so that I don't have to go on statins.......and they work! I also walk daily at a brisk pace. I drink LOTS of water. Those are probably my healthiest habits currently.
8. Do you have a favorite postage stamp? Well....not really...I've always loved the nature based ones and I'm super stoked that Maya Angelou is appearing on the stamps this year!!
9. Who did you talk to the most this week? That's a tie between my youngest daughter Claire and my husband.
10. What's on your bedside table? Well it's a small bookcase so has 3 shelves. Top one has a lamp, my foot cream, lip balm and a glass of water. Middle shelf has a devotional book, my journal, and my phone charger. Bottom shelf has a small box filled with random mementos, change..kind of like a junk drawer but in a pretty decorative box. Next to that is clear jar of assorted foot creams and my pumice stone. I have a thing for soft feet at night so like to moisturize them. Oh and I have a library book on the bottom shelf.
11. How often do you try something new? hm...again..not specific. Well if you mean a new food then fairly often. Once a month I try a new recipe and it's typically plant-based. I did try a new to me online college class that my blogging friend Deb from Utah told me about and I loved it! Oh...and I tried winter hiking 2 winters ago and decided I kind of like it if the temps are over 20 degrees.
12. What are some of your grocery list staples? organic, firm tofu; coffee; multi-grain bread; unsweetened almond milk; greens; berries or oranges
13. Do you have a favorite poet? Yes. Although I don't read poetry all that often, one of my very fave classic poets is Emily Dickinson. I also enjoy e e cummings and T S Eliot. For modern poets I totally love Amanda Gorman. She's amazing and so young! What a talent.
14. What interesting fact do you know? The Wakely Mountain fire tower (which I have climbed!) is the tallest fire tower in New York State of the original 10 fire towers. It is now the 3rd tallest tower still standing. It's located in the Central Adirondack mountain region outside of Indian Lake, NY. The mountain itself stands at 3744 feet high. It was one of the hardest mountains I have ever climbed.
15. Do you fold laundry right away or do it later? If it's clothing, I tend to fold it right away. If it's sheets or towels it tends to sit in the basket or dryer for a day or two!

Hi Faith. Thanks for joining in! It was fun to read your answers. Hope all is going well and that you are enjoying your day off. :-)
I'm not even going to tell you how many times I "refreshed" my last load of laundry. LOL. I should put that dryer feature on my FFF because I use it a lot. I have great intentions of getting to fold clothes right away and then something always comes along to delay the chore. This was fun. Reminds me of the old days of blogging where we did lots of this kind of stuff.
Oh!! I'm going to do this!!
Ok, so I don't actually count my pens but I do know I have more than 15 :)
