First Friday of February and time to share FIVE of my FAVE blessings from the past week. This is a "being thankful" meme hosted by Susanne and I for one am grateful she hosts this because it is good to give thanks for all of the blessings God pours into our lives. It helps to keep me intentional about the act of gratitude.
- BOOKS: Super thankful for my town library, the chance to borrow books and the time in the winter months to read them after work and dinner. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. I have a fiction book going, 3 on the night shelf next to my bed to read next, a non-fiction my daughter bought me for Christmas, and a devotional I read each night before turning out the light. I also am thankful for the Bible..the greatest book of all....I'm currently studying the book of Ezekiel and the book of John. I can't imagine my life without books!

- CAFE MISTO! When Claire got home from work Sunday afternoon, she had brought me a Cafe Misto (my absolute fave from *$$). It had the almond milk, with almond milk foam, one pump of the cinnamon dulce syrup and was nice and hot...perfect for the cold afternoon and for sipping while I read my book. I'm thankful a barista lives with us :)
Jewelry (bracelet) created by my sister-in-law Paula |
- SURPRISE PACKAGE! Last weekend I had a surprise package in the mail. My sister-in-law (Dave's youngest sister Paula) is into making jewelry...it's a new hobby for her. She made me the above bracelet and the charm is one of our marriage symbols(dragonfly....some of you know the story of us and the dragonfly; the other symbol was a cross with 2 rings entwined around it). I'm thankful for fun gifts that come in the mail and for my sister in law's love.
- POWER WALKS IN SUNSHINE: Tuesday was a day with temps in the mid-30s and it was sunny all day. After work, I quickly changed my clothes and hit the pavement. I did a really good power walk getting my heart rate up into the fat burn and cardio ranges. It was still a bit windy so I was thankful for my fleece headband to cover my ears. I'm mostly just thankful to get a good work-out in, in God's creation.

everything is coated with ICE |
- SNOW....ICE....DAY! Wow....we were released at 2 pm yesterday from work even though it was 45 degrees F and raining. But ice storm was on its way and sure enough, by about 8 pm, the sleet and freezing rain was falling. The PreK agency where i teach closed all 3 sites last night by 9 pm so I was able to turn off my phone alarm and sleep in an extra half hour this morning. We have a real snow day!! No Google Classroom lessons......this way we get a nice 3 day weekend! I am most thankful that my oldest daughter can work from her apartment as her boss closed the office for the day, Dave is still working from home anyways, and I can only hope and pray that Claire's boss calls her and tells her not to go in later. If she has to, we will have a LOT of ice scraping to do. I'm so thankful for days at home during icky winter weather.
That wraps up my faves. I hope wherever you are and whatever weather God is bringing your way, that you are healthy, safe and cozy!
For me? I'm logging off and enjoying a good novel from the library with an extra mug (or 2!!) of coffee!
HAPPY WEEKEND!

I hope you have enjoyed your snow and ice day! Lots of books and coffee. Here, too.
Any time Claire wants to make my a peppermint mocha with almond milk, I'm in! Lucky you to have a barista daughter.
Hopefully, you will get more power walks in and I'll get more river walks.
Beautiful bracelet!
Hi Faith. I am glad you had a snow to be cozy at home. The bracelet is such a special gift from your sister-in-law. Amen about the books. I don't know what I would do without books! See you again soon. Have a good weekend.
Love your Valentine background! I don't usually have more that one book going at a time, but right now I have four. It's too much for me, so I'm trying to work it down to just two. I love your bracelet, such a talented SIL. Yesterday, was the first time in days that I got out for a walk. It was still freezing cold and the trails were hard to walk through in places, but it felt good to be out on a beautiful winter's day.
I'm with you, Faith, loving and appreciating our library system! Recently they stopped fining for overdue books and even though I usually get them back before they're due, it's such a generous gesture.
I hope you are enjoying your long weekend and your books. I'm with you on books. I love my library. I haven't done any proper walking for the last week or so as things have been so busy so well done you for keeping it up.
Brrr, ice storms are the worst. Coffee and books are the perfect antidote to that weather. I love my library too. Lovely bracelet and a special gift.
Books could easily make my fave list every week. How nice to have someone bring your your favorite coffee. :-) What a sweet and thoughtful gift from your s-i-l. Your snow/ice day sounds cozy!
