A "Just for Fun" CHRISTMAS MEME

I saw this fun little Christmas meme on Linda's blog, so thought I would join in!

Christmas is next week...Let's talk a bit about it, okay?

1. Are you excited for Christmas to come?

Absolutely!  It's my absolute favorite holiday.  Not just because of the Reason (Jesus coming to earth in human form) but because of all the music, food, fellowship, family time.

2. What do you look forward to on Christmas?

Having both daughters here for the day and doing all of our traditions:  Mimosas for breakfast; Stockings; opening gifts, enjoying a meal together, board games, and watching It's a Wonderful Life or The Christmas Carol.

3. What will Christmas Eve find you doing?

BUSY BUSY BUSY Performing!

Dave, Courtney, and I  are in the Church Choir so will have to be dressed in our black and white performance best and on stage by noon for a final run through.  Our church does 3 services: 2, 3:30, and 5 pm. It's a huge undertaking but thankfully each service is ony about 45 minutes long.  At 2:45 all choir members/band members will eat lunch which is catered by a local restaurant the church orders from. Last year it was delicious. We only have 30 min to eat and freshen up and then we're back on stage.

After the 5 pm service, our youngest daughter will join the 3 of us and we will  go home to spend the evening eating some goodies and watching our absolute fave Christmas musical "White Christmas".  Then the girls will go back to their apartments and we will see them the next morning.

4. What will be on the menu for Christmas?

Dave is making his famous vegan stuffing (it's just like regular stuffing but instead of using turkey broth he uses veggie broth and his delicious squash.  I am putting together 2  charcuterie boards: one will be vegan based (veggies, vegan pepperoni, 2 different kinds of hummus, vegan crackers/breadsticks and fruit) and the other will be cheeses, crackers, various deli meats. dessert will be my chocolate orange fudge or the vegan chocolate truffle cookies plus gingerbread cookies and chocolate shortbread cookies. Claire can eat all the desserts except the fudge as that contains milk.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

What a wonderful way to spend Christmas eve, singing at church with your family and friends! That sounds so special! I am going to try and make a vegan gingerbread with a recipe that I love. We'll see how it goes. It has butter in the original recipe and I have to do some research to figure out what to replace that with. I will replace the eggs with flax seed.

Spirit of Simplicity. You can replace cows butter with Earth Balance Original Spread (tastes JUST LIKE COWS BUTTER) it's what we use here!!
