Time to play the Saturday 9: a question meme hosted by Sam from over here. Play along! Sheena was one of my fave pop singers when I was in college. In fact, I had this album and got my hair cut in 1983 just like hers!
Morning Train (1981)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) In this song, Sheena Easton sings about her lover, who takes a train to and from work each day. When is the last time you took public transportation? Where did you go? The last time I took public transportation was the T in Boston during New Year's Eve/First Night. We were in a hotel on the south shore, so took the T from Quincy station to City Hall area and walked all over. Took the T back just before midnight and saw the new year in, at a restaurant/pub near our hotel.
2) His workday begins at 9 and ends at 5. Do your days stick to a predictable schedule? My teaching schedule used to be 8:30-1 pm with my actual work hours being 8 AM to 2:30 pm (or 3 pm some years). Now I am retired so I don't have a set schedule although there are certain days I do certain things and starting in Sept I'll lead my walking group the first Fri and Sat of the month from 9-10 AM and then my book group will meet in my home every Tuesday from 7-8:30 pm. I will probably join 1-2 classes this year at church as well during the morning hours.
3) In the evening she sings that they may go to a movie, a restaurant or slow dancing ... whatever she wants. Which of those would you choose? A restaurant that also has dancing!
4) As a little girl, Sheena Easton performed at family gatherings, not just because she was talented but because she could be a bit of a ham. When you were a kid, were more often shy or outgoing? When I was very little, I was mainly shy...as I got to my teens I was much more outgoing.
5) In the late 1980s she was the spokeswoman for Bally's health clubs. Do you have a gym membership? No, we used to get a free one via our former health insurance/doctor's office but now we don't. We are thinking of joining our town's community fitness center. This might be a Xmas gift for us. I work out on my own, in my own house and I power walk almost every day.
6) In 1987 she played Sonny Crockett's love interest on Miami Vice. Were you a fan of the show? I don't think I've ever seen one episode. When it was on, I was a very busy grad student and first year teacher..no time for television!
7) This weekend is a good reason to have a picnic or barbecue. The best-selling barbecue sauce flavors are sweet, spicy, and smoky. What's your favorite? Smoky or not too sweet. There's a honey bbq sauce we really like for chicken.
8) Labor Day weekend may offer a golden opportunity for napping and sleeping in. Do you snore? My husband says I do when I am having sinus issues (usually winter months) or lie on back the entire night which isn't often.
9) Labor Day traditionally marks the beginning of the fall. Will you be adding any new fall clothes to your wardrobe? Yes, I have already bought one of those new trendy vests and a pair of cargo pants which are the "thing" again it seems.

Hi Faith! It was fun to read your answers. I hope you have a great Saturday!
I belonged to a book group that met at the library, but the ladies decided they wanted wine so they began meeting at each other's homes. I couldn't go to any of the meetings then because everyone has a cat or a dog and I have terrible asthma. I miss book group. Maybe I should start one and just have it at my house.
I am not sure I could pull off a vest, and I admire those who can, smiles. Wishing you a beautiful weekend. smiles
Loved your answers, Faith
Oh, I bet New Year's Eve in Boston was lovely!
I love your answer to #3. A two-fer!
I am the same with #8. I have been going through boxes of paper and it messes my sinuses. I use an oil diffuser and that helps. Have a great week!
