Wednesday HodgePodge

These were great questions for this week's Wednesday Hodgepodge.

Head over here to learn how to join in!

1. What's a lesson you've learned from a mistake?

to not blindly trust people...to really get to know someone first before sharing your secrets or deep thoughts and also to stand up for my self when I know I did nothing wrong..to not let it simmer in my mind/heart

2. Do you salt food while you're cooking or let diners add their own?  What's a food you think must be salted? Do you like pepper?

I don't tend to use salt but I do use a lot of other spices and herbs. I do like cracked black pepper and use it most often on scrambled eggs.  Something that I find MUST have a dash of sea salt are sweet potato fries. YUMMY

3. What was the last gathering you attended and what did you do there?

The last gathering I attended was a brunch in December at the class I take on Wednesday mornings and in fact, we are having our Spring Fling today! What we did in December: a time of worship, excellent brunch food was eaten and lots of good conversation after hearing a special speaker. A few weeks after that, I hosted a Christmas/New Year's gathering for my side of the family.

4. Your favorite shade of purple? What's your favorite purple flower?

My fave shade of purple is lilac.  My fave purple flower is lilacs followed by violets. Sadly,  as I've aged, I've developed an allergy to lilacs!!

5. Share a favorite spring travel memory:

Our trip to Paris during Spring Break 2010!  (April).  We celebrated me turning 50 the previous December, and our 20th Wedding Anniversary compliments of a Christmas bonus Dave received at work.  It was a memorable trip, before iphone cameras so some of these pics are not great as we had a not super expensive digital camera with us.  I have SO many more pics but this is a quick glimpse of the most romantic city in the world!

6. Insert Random Thought Here:

One week from today, I will be hiking in the Central Adirondack Mountains (if it doesn't rain) for the first time in 2025!!!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!

Fun looking back on your Paris trip! I'm still learning not to blindly trust. I love lilacs and all shades of purple.

Ahh, springtime in Paris. But of course Paris is wonderful in any season. Enjoy your hike! I'm hoping for. a hike this weekend. We have so much pollen currently it will kind of depend on the air quality. April is the height of it, but we had a big rain on Monday which helps a lot. Have a great day!

That is really good advice about not trusting people too quickly, I have before and have been burned.
