Currently on a Monday

Today is Monday, 7 July.  It's hot and humid and I'm thankful for central air for my car and my home.

Looking out my window

lush green everywhere!  grass, maple trees, pear tree, pine tree, and my deck containers are blooming nicely. Sky is a hazy blue with some storm clouds rolling in as we begin the late afternoon (it's 5:30 pm as I type this).

I am thinking

about the upcoming week and the various activities I'm involved in

I am thankful

for  the central air mentioned above; for the good PT appointment I had this morning; for watermelon on sale; for safety on the roads during the long holiday weekend; that I don't live down south where the weather has been extreme.

One of my favorite things

Chocolate -orange soft serve ice cream

I am creating

I'm not really crafty in regards to domestic type stuff like sewing, knitting, etc etc.  but  what I have been doing is practicing some Beethoven and Bartok on the piano.  20 min a day.

I am listening to

the sound of the central air conditioning which just clicked on

I am wearing

mint green bermuda shorts, a white swing top with blue and mint green embroidery  on the neckline, my fitbit, my wedding rings, my birthstone ring, silver tear drop earrings, and light blue toenail polish.  We go shoeless in our home so I am barefoot.

I am reading

a devotional on the Bible app about Strategic Delays; and the following books:

historical fiction

preparing to lead a women's small group in Sept
with this book as our topic

evening devotional book

I am learning

that practicing Bartok is not as easy as it looked; I'm also reviewing French on the Duolingo app

In my kitchen

sauteed summer squash, zucchini, red onion, raw broccoli, red pepper, sweet potatoes with beyond beef steak tips simmering on top and asian ginger marinade pulling it all together; plus fresh bowl of cut up watermelon and blueberries and "cheesy" basil pasta. ....dinner will be ready by 6:30

In my garden

I'm not a farmer and travel much too often in the summer so don't have a veggie garden but I'm growing gerbera daisies, gardenias, petunias, basil in deck containers and in the front, we have our day lilies, pink tea roses and orange roses.

 Quote

"The strength of patience hangs on our capacity to believe that God is up to something good for us in all our delays and detours."  ~John Piper~

A moment from my day

finally emptied the cooler of the bags of ice
and extra sparkling waters/beer/mocktails
and cleaned it out to air it out
from our beach day on Saturday

What's going on around your house??

Hi Faith. I remember playing Bartok when I was young and took piano. He was my least favorite composer to play. As I recall, some of his pieces just sounded weird. Good for you for practicing and keeping your piano skills up! I enjoyed reading this post. See you again soon!
