Wonders.....

Am sitting here on this pretty Wednesday afternoon, looking up at a bright, cerulean-blue sky with full, golden sun splashing on my face....it's a bit chilly but the sun is warm and comforting....this afternoon is a free one for me, to just enjoy a sandwich and a book at the deck table and no obligations until my youngest daughter's cross country track run at 4 pm.  They are "trail running" today for the elementary school track meet.  It is her first one so of course I will be going over to our towne park where the wooded trails begin.  Meanwhile.....

 I am sitting here in the October sunshine, and thinking of the song we sometimes sing in church with these lyrics running thru my head:

"God of wonder beyond our galaxy, You are Holy, Holy. The universe declares Your Majesty, You are Holy, Holy.  Lord of heaven and earth....." (lyrics by Chris Tomlin)

And i begin to meditate on what are the wonders in my world this week:

• the smiles from P----, the autistic 5 year old I have the privilege to teach and the feedback from his parents

• The fresh scent of pines.....

• A steaming cup of tea or coffee on a chilly morning

• the taste of cinnamon/nutmeg/brown sugar in fresh apple-crisp!

The knowledge that I am loved, unconditionally by God the Father....and that He loves you, too!

and the community of friends He has blessed me with......

and a husband who is married for life to me...and a forever friend, by covenant...

and good neighbors who are friends....

and studious daughters.....

the wonders of it all......

Makes me marvel.....
