Am finishing up my personal Bible study of the sovereignty of the Lord.This a.m. before work, I was in Joshua 10: 1-14. I especially was drawn to the part about how God made the sun stand still. He allowed the people to have revenge on their enemies! (v. 12b, 13). Verse 14 tells us that there has never been a day like that!
The little study that goes along with this scripture says that "science can't explain it" and "words can't describe it". But....God can do anything He wants! He will do what it takes to carry out His purpose and plans. "God doesn't follow rules....He creates them". (Women of Faith Bible, Lynda Hunter-Bjorklund, pg.260)
We need to just follow after Him...we won't always understand the purpose or the plan of something. We just need to "stand still" (let Him create the rules, the purpose, the plan) like the sun did that day, and allow Him to lead.

Amen! We just need to stand still and let God carry out his purpose and his plans.
This reminds me of the Eph 6 passage about putting on the full armor or God. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
